Yes France is in the bag. It's only a matter of time now.

How many losses have Germany sustained so far ?

How many losses have Germany sustained so far ?

At the beginning of the turn: 2.9 million CP and 4.3 million Allied casualties.

The damn French just won't surrender! And out of nowhere there is a huge British force lining up at the Channel?!

Also this is the Italian border:

Nov / Dez 1915

Western Front: I don't have any HQ's so I just use artillery to keep the Allies busy. I regroup. And the AI is regrouping all the time! They show up in the north, and a few turns later the troops all of a sudden show up in the south, they built a frontline to contain my attack, and the next turn that hex is empty again... I'm lucky because they don't attack too often.

East: Stalemate in Prussia, Russians advance in Galicia, high casualties emerge. Again all I do is use big guns to stop the Russians.

Italy: I stop the Italian advance, they seem to turn eastward now.

Jan / Feb:

Western Front: I keep going in the south, I stand a counterattack in the north. Still no decision! Damn!

East: Oh well, the Russians are strong, and they start showing me!

Italy: Not much.

That was only one turn.

Mar / April:

The overall situation has improved. Thanks to Turkish supplies I can built more weapons, more shells, more naval more more. At least for Germany.

West:
France is still fighting, I conquered Lyon! I guess what's missing is that the Frensh still own Belfort, I hope they surrende once I got that. Still a lot of BEF around. Damn there must be a way to turn down the frogs!

Image

East: heavy fighting in Galicia. The Austrians are brave but outnumbered! I have no idea how long they can keep up. Austria is exhausted and now from excellent to strong....

Image

Naval: I can conquer the Atlantic again! Yes!

May June:

West: Finally I conquer that last part of the boarder and France surrenders! Man that was a tough fight.

East: The Russians are still trying. AH holds.

Italy: The Italian were able to move east, but then I got a bunch of troops from France and now I will beat em!

Naval: Doing ok.

I'm sorry guys, this game is too addictive. I am in late 1917 now and I didn't continue this AAR... I just had to keep going. It's 2 am now and I can barely force myself to stop...

I tell you what happened... France surrenders and I start moving my troops to the other fronts. I decide to concentrate on Italy first. Because it's near to my troops and because I feel that I won't be able to fight the Russians anyway....

So I started to push back the Italians and than this happened:

Yeah all of northern Italy was red because there were at least 80% British troops. I attack in the south, conquer Venice and keep pushing hard to the south. One turn I have a lot of HQ and I manage to conquer a large part of Italy, knocking out the Italian troops. I also push back the British troops in the north, and as they move south I manage to press them against the Med. Italy surrenders really fast! But in that turn Romania and the US join the Entente.

Meanwhile Austria is running out of troops. I can even manage to keep all units at full force, because they are so few... The Russians launch wave after wave against Galicia, and only the Hungarian artillery can contain their attacks.

Romania becomes the next battlefield. As they enter the war, the Romanians act foolish and don't secure their southern boarder! Bulgarian troops move in and can conquer the capitol and the major harbour easily! So Romania is weak after two turns, but then a massive wave of Russian troops enters the country to support their ally. I move my troops from Italy into Romania, lots of artillery too, and those are among the bloodiest battles in the entire war. Attack, counterattack, attack. Seeing a weak spot in their lines, I manage to capture the last Romanian town and they surrender, but the Russians are still there.... I will try to keep entering Russia from the south, but I feel I will run out of men shortly. Austria is becoming weaker and weaker and even Germany has crossed its peak. I even saw a British corps in Poland!!!

I will continue tomorrow. I hope I will post pics again.

This game is a lot of fun and you have to make the right decisions, I did not always but I had some really great campaigns going on.

Here I am again, I just finished the game. It lasted until the end of 1919.. what else happened?

I kept fighting my way through Romania and massing troops along the Russian front. First the resistance was very strong, Austria turned from "strong" to "good" and everybody else was still excellent. I thought I had no chance to invade Russia with success before I'd become to exhausted, even Germany went to "strong"...

But then both Germany and Austria re-vitalized, thanks to the good supplies I got from everybody in Europe and even from overseas shipping. American ships gave me a hard time in the Atlantic, but my Uboats kept British supplies down. I never saw any American soldier.

Finally Austria was able to fight back in Galicia, reconquering Lemberg. German troops joined that attack, driving the Russians back from the German boarder and eventually I kept going eastward. In the south I sacked Odessa, after again heavy fighting. After that Russian resistance vanished! Russian casualties very going up very fast while my offensive actions went on and on. I stopped in the south after Odessa because there were no more enemy troops to fight, and I didn't want to spent offensive points to conquer empty space, so I moved an army to Greece and went right to Saloniki. Even the few British troops in Poland didn't stand my attack. Russia went to "weak" while Germany was "excellent" and Austria "strong". If the war had lasted 6 more month Russia would have probably fallen apart worse than it did in the real Russian Revolution.

So this was my first full game, and I love it! Some campaigns were great, some didn't. I thing the initial idea wasn't that bad, I got Serbia out of the game and was lucky enough to have a very passive Russian AI. A human player might have done quite some damage to my eastern front, but the Austrian hold Galicia. I barely went to use trenches or assault troops, just some gas. So there is still a lot to learn in this game.
