A New Carriers at War Update Roars off the Flight Deck!

Post by Alex Fiedler »

The first update for Carriers at War has kicked its tires and thundered off the flight deck

Matrix Games and Strategic Studies Group (www.ssg.com.au) are thrilled to announce the first update for Carriers at War is now available. This update will bring pages of changes and improvements to the World War II naval warfare strategy game, chief among them a new damage model to realistically reflect damaged ship speed, a "suspense" option for combat, and much more!

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said "Carriers at War has been warmly received by fans of the classic naval warfare title and newcomers to the game alike. This update reflects countless hours of hard work on behalf of SSG to improve an already great game."

Gregor Whiley of SSG also added "We think fans of Carriers at War will find that this update will answer many popular requests in addition to improving upon the realism and fun that many players enjoy in Carriers at War."

Carriers at War is a WWII naval combat and strategy game set in the Pacific Theatre. Putting you at the heart of WWII carrier combat, you are in charge of commanding carriers with immense amounts of firepower tasked with delivering a knockout blow to the enemy, while avoiding retribution at the hands of a fanatical foe. Carriers at War focuses heavily on carrier fleet command strategy, which requires the player to use all of their naval prowess to best the enemy. Throughout the wide range of scenarios and campaigns found in Carriers at War, history buffs and strategy fans alike will recognize and enjoy playing through famous engagements including Pearl Harbor, Midway, Coral Sea, Eastern Solomons, and more!

This update will bring Carriers at War to version 1.01 and is comprehensive.

Need some help with this update. I have downloaded this file 4 times into a place called "temporary folder" but cannot find this file after searching on my pc. Unfortunately I am unable to save the file, it just downloads to some mysterious folder. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx

Thanks, Alex.

Those look like some very good changes for the scenarios and the game.

Appreciate SSG's hard work and after-market support.

Try right clicking on the download link and choosing "Save Target As", then you can tell it where you want the file to go. Or uncheck the box that says to close the window when the download is complete.

It's somewhere within the "C:\WINDOWS\Temp" structure but where depends on when you last cleaned up your HD etc and what the OS decided to call the file and folder ..... The sugestion i saw to use the Search facility was a good one. I have mine download to a specific loacation so I KNOW where they go :-)
