Counters for GOA

Post by Wilk Stepowy »

Hi!
First of all I want to thank Frank Hunter for excellent game, it's my "all time favourite"[:)]. I made some counters from old french war magazine and maybe somebody would like to use them, so I'm posting a screenshot and dowload link with some of them. The archive contains french, german, russian, british and austro-hungarian infantry counter(I've got more if someone wants it)

Now I'm going back to the most enjoyable game[:D]

PS. thanks to GJK for beautiful map!

This set compared to IronX's set brings up and interesting question.

Which French uniform should be represented.

The 1914 red pantaloon dark blue, the sky blue kepi, or the latter years sky blue helmeted??

The same question for the German pikelhaub vs. the Coal kettle helmets.

Would be neat if it could change from year-to-year.
Any relationship between what I say and reality is purely coincidental.

You can just swap the "COUNTERS" folder in january 1915 for example with alternate one(containing reworked or new uniforms)
german infantryman with Stahlhelm M1916, rumanian & bulgarian counter:

Very nice work! But why the italian counter has the french uniform?
Thanks. Actually, this is an original italian uniform!(the french one is italian but reworked). They look very similar I guess, so I can just use the second italian uniform model(with feathers[;)], less common?) for this counter... or I will use original french uniform picture...The one with feathers looks better?
"German" artillery if anybody interested[:)]:

I haven't installed GOA yet because I got some work to finish, I hope to play it ASAP. Howewer, in the screenshots I've seen until now, the italian uniform looks somewhat strange [&:] but I'm not sure untill I play the game.

In your counters it's easy to fix: just cancel the turnbacks and color the belts and pouches black.

Many thanks, all this graphics making is only for my and others fun and it's probably not important to reworked it but words of appreciation always mobilize me to upgrade something in this counter set[:)]
So, here's a link to upgraded pack(some tweaks in american, turkish, french, italian counter, arty for Austria and Germany, new, rather better austrian infantry look)

and thanks once more!

Lots of hard work since last post, but all HQ and Infantry units are moded, still there is some cavalry to create or change from pre-war looking. Soon I'll place an update for my "mod", and here are some of the new counters(including "Ultimate German Soldier Counter"![:D])if anybody interested:
