Chungking China

Post by shawn118aw »

Ver 1.8.0.6 Game Date: 5 Aug 1943 Allied--Computer, Japan--Me,

Why can't I eliminate the allied forces in Chungking? I have taken every city in the country and I have them secured with the right amount of garrison forces. I have taken this city twice now (once in April 43 and now again in July 43) and sure as heck two days later another 57,000 allied force are back in the city but no icon counter show on the map. I have 258,000 Japanese Force holding the city (the garrison level is at 3,694 and only 63 required).

If this is a HUGE flaw in the game --then FIX IT, Please.

What am I doing wrong?

Dead Chinese units come back. My guess is they are coming back in Chunking regardless of who owns it. Its not terribly high on the bug list. Dont hold your breath.

If you ignore them they will not cause any problems. Just leave enough troops to meet the garrison requirment and move on.

How do I "just move on", I cannot move because there are enemy unit in the hex, and they are growing--42,000 to 62,000 in 20 days.  When I attack, I lose 2-3000 per attack and they only about 1200.

I have 225,000 troops tied up there.  Any other suggestions to fix this MAJOR ERROR in the game?

You can't move from one allied controlled hex to another, but that doesn't prevent you from moving your troops out of the Chungking hex. Just move them into a hex that you control and then you can send them whereever.

When Chinese troops are destroyed, they are reborn at Chungking 30?60?90? days later. You destroyed the troops at Chungking, the game will bring them back at the prescribed time. They won't have the strength to throw you out of Chungking as long as you leave a reasonable garrison there, so most folks here have learned to deal with the bug and move on.

edited for really bad typo...

They can't attack or suffer losses. They can only be attacked and inflict losses on you so ignore them.

If that really is the case, you wouldn't need much of a garrison - any unit should prevent "autocapture"

I left just the required garrison and have been fine for 8 months.

A sure-fire way to move out of the city is to key another city as the destination. The guys are right, leave the requisite minimum garrison and move on, you have won.

This was also a problem in the old DOS game, but in the case of Calcutta. There, the Allies would attack with the reinforcements from nowhere, and you had to maintain a larger garrison.
