size?

Post by freeboy »

I read in the pt forum that size would be 200x200 or bigger for user made scens.. can we still make scens and is there a limit on map size in hexes?

Is the event engine still included?

i would not recommend making maps larger then 100x100 pixels, but yes you could if you would want too.

And you can use a mini language to code your own events for your own scenarios.

ok, had me on that one lol!
is the event editor user friendly , ie not a code talker? lol
several new games have been released with very specific builders...
cuirious as this game will be a jewel if a decent editor allows the fan base to add free scens ala decisive battle games etc thanks again!

the editor is a bit on the rough side to be honest. the event editor actually uses pseudo code which makes it quite powerfull but also a bit difficult to use. however i will keep supporting this game and its editor and if extra documentation will be needed i will make it so.

lets get some feedback the comming weeks first.

As the editor gets easier, ie putting choices in frameworks etc, more will use, thus more free scenarios, thus more sales.. good luck this does look like a winner

imo its a balance. A simple editor is nice but also limit the stuff you can do with it. While a big complex editor means people cant crank out stuff as fast becouse fewer will learn it. But they scenarios can be that much better becouse it allows for more stuff.

Ofc complexity dont always equal better, but you get what i mean.

As i can see the maximum map size is 200x200? I hoped there would be no limitations because in the last time i played a lot of great toaw scenarios which have a map size around 300x300 and it would be fun to convert one of the great WW1 scenarios.

Each hex is variable scale though, so that doesn't mean a limit of 200km, for example.

I understand the variable scale but there is a max size to the hexes correct or am I doing something wrong with the editor?
Hmmm
