Pure Slugger Question

At the end of a season when the Pure Slugger awards are given out, is the award suppose to go to all positions or only certain positions? If I remember correctly, I believe the award is suppose to go to the top position players at each position.

The reason for asking is that the last season I played, neither a catcher or pitcher were named on the list.

Though the Pitcher appears as an option for a Pure Slugger award when you look it up in the Almanac->Annual Awards screen, I have never seen a Pitcher earn that award.

The Catcher however, I know I have seen. Perhaps all catchers in your association were little girly men that year?
