Finances question

Post by RedArgo »

Hello,

I just started playing PS again after not having played in a while. My league is the MLB setup, but with a complete redraft with the lowest amount of money possbile and equal finances for all teams using 2006 players.

I was able to draft anyone I wanted (who was still available) and I still have about 1/3 of my starting money unspent. All of the AI teams are in about the same situation.

I'm just wondering if money will ever become scarce in future seasons or is there a different setup I can use to make money an issue?

I'm about 2/3 through my first season, my starting rotation is all in their low to mid twenties, signed for 5 years and I'm third in the league in ERA. That will leave me a ton of money to bolster my mediocre offense.

Thanks for your input,
Bill

If your starting rotation is that good, they're going to start asking for more money when their contracts come up for renewal, and there is a chance you might not be able to afford them all.  I've seen players ask for a 200% raise and price themselves right off my team...the greedy SOBs.

One thing you can do to hasten a "financial crisis" is to use the Edit Region/Finances feature to reduce your cash on hand.

Also note that there will be adjustments made for inflation, but the impact is minimal; like applying a bandage when you've had your arm cut off. That sort of thing.

I think I'll try to load up with some offense next season and pay the price when I can't afford my pitchers in 4 seasons.

LA needs a world series now!

I just finished my first season, lost in 7 game NLCS to the eventual WS champs.

My financial question answered itself. The free agent market was slim and I spent $35 million on three offensive players, so now I'm broke.

Another question though, I noticed all my 24-26 year old pitchers with 50+ potential endurance went down. Why is that?

Thanks,
Bill
