A New Season Start

Post by KG Erwin »

I cleaned out my old PSAs, and will start from scratch. It seems that some of the vets have switched to fictional teams/players. I have several real-roster templates to choose from, but for careers, I believe that 50-man rosters work the best.

So, now I'm torn about what historical era to start in. For stability, it would be from 1903-1953. I AM gonna stick with using real players. No financials.

What I'd LIKE to do is impossible, at the moment. This would be to set up a sandbox association, populate it with real teams/players, hold an amateur draft, and THEN start a new season.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hello Glenn, Merry Christmas !

I like 1905-1915 and 1925-1935

I have myself started a 50 man/ fictional. I would use real players but not sure how that would work from year to year !

Boy, oh, boy. I set up a 1939 draft league, went through all 50 rounds, set up my minors. I imported the 1939 schedule from the OOTP forums, and then find that it's no good. PS won't accept it.

This has NOT been a good month for me. [8|]

KG, I used the retrosheet actual schedule that the game auto loads after spring training.

Guys, the problem is that Retrosheet only works with the historical replays. I set up my association to match the OOTP schedule layouts.

Now, I wonder if the Retrosheet schedules can be renamed to PSC format?

I just found out about the schedules. I sat up a fictional league and thought I could use the retrosheet schedules.... wrong. I used the same teams as 1950 Major Leagues, but it didn't help.

KG, I am having to start over having just switched computers.  Do you try and get all of your schedules from OOTP?  I did notice in my association that the dates were all off whack, i.e. days off on Sundays.
I just want to start off on the right foot when I begin again.
Thanks

Sooner7, I use the Retrosheet scheds for 35-man historical replays. They won't work on any other association configurations, so I use historical OOTP scheds for 50-man (and above) rosters.

As I pointed out above, unfortunately the 1939 season csv is corrupted.

Remember than the opening date and day of the week must be manually input. Also, the teams must match the listings in the csv/txt files.

Where do you get those schedules (OOTP), KG ????

Can you customize them for fictional replays ??

Thanks
