Exported Roster

Post by Wrathchild »

Is there a way to get a spreadsheet of everyone in my organization, so that I can manipulate it in Excel?

I am interested in the answer also. Right now, I send a lot of time slicing and dicing the xls from the reports section to get just my team.

If they are not already, it would be nice if the reports were customizable, too. Does that qualify as a little thing?

The closest thing I can find is available in the STATISTICS & REPORTS screen. You will find a link labeled Export Data; this lets you export it as either an Excel spreadsheet, Access database, HTML or a few other formats.

Sorting for your team onl will take some work, as the data which is exported is nothing more than a huge list of players. A SORT command on the TEAMNAME column (if you export it as an Excel file) should do the trick. I'm not all that familiar with the other formats so I cannot give much guidance there.

My main interest is starting with my players' ARM, HANDS, RANGE, etc. ratings. Do any of the exportable reports show that?

Yes, the export includes every field on the player record.

Which export is that, specifically? I'm a bit confused.

Wrath,

Just to be sure I wasn't blowing smoke, I did the export myself. I'm very comfortable with Excel so it was the format of choice for me. From the HOME screen, go to STATISTICS & REPORTS. On the links againt the left side of the screen, the 8th from the top is Export Data... Select this link and it will take you to a pop-up window that asks what format to export the report to and where you want to save it.

Once these have been chosen, wait a short while and soon Puresim will attempt to run the program that relates to the format you chose. TA-DA, instant info.

Note that there are several columns available, I believe it's a little over 75. As Shaun said, you will find the ratings you are looking for there; ARM for example is near the end. I would suggest that you filter the players as the list will include EVERYONE, free agents and signed players in all teams. Once you have your guys up, you can then sort the columns to your heart's content.

Got it. I was thinking that if I hit that it would export the current report I was viewing. What's cool is that has a record for each year for a player. You can easily see how a player's ratings have changed over his career.

Exactly. It requires some work and some editing, but for the most part it's an amazing, fully customizeable report that gives you gobs of information.
