Potential

Post by Jestre »

Can anyone give me a ballpark idea of what the potential rating represents. How can one quantify the effect of say a 25 potential rating vs a 50 potential rating on a 1-100 scale for a player in his early 20's??? I understand the arrows indicate an expected increase or decrease in ratings.

From what I can gather, potential is really the "chance" a player will improve or get worse, not nessecarily how much they will improve or get worse.

That's one of the great things about the career mode. You just don't know a player's true potential until he's with your organization for at least 3 or 4 years.

Now, traditionally, a player "capped out" at age 28, but I believe that Shaun tweaked that a bit. The grade curve has been extended a few years.

I wonder if Shaun has any plans to greatly raise the "cap out" age in PS 2009. It's well known by now that increased nutrition and training has allowed players to play into their forties and actually, in some cases, show a marked increase in skills.
