I have to agree, this is a whole different experience compared to the other major prop sims. I must have only got 3 or 4 kills today just messing around in the "Instant Action" but I can already see that this is a keeper. The flight model (damn it's hard to take off in the spit!), the gunnery feels right, and the clouds (The clouds alone do it for me :D) all make this something different than what I've played before.

Being a gunner in the bombers is damned difficult because the sights are useless...probaby as it should be being as the gunners didn't have an awful lot of movement

Have you shot one down yet out of the gunners seat in a bomber? I haven't yet. It is hard but I like it. Even though its restrictive.

I have to chime in on this one. I was a big fan of the old Rowan version of BOB so I was intrigued by this re-release. I couldn't beat the download price so I took the plunge. All of the elements of the original game that I loved are here with some additional tweaks thrown in. All in all, it's a great game. A great flight model with the added strategic component.

Since Matrix are resurrecting some flight sim classics, I would like to see an updated version of Mig Alley and another favorite of mine, Jane's IAF. In fact, any of the old Jane's sims such as USAF, Longbow Anthology, etc., that were relegated to the dustbin with the advent of Windows XP. Any possibilities there?

Congrats on the release.

Yeah I got a kill as a fighter zoomed past my bomber very close on the starboard side low as it attacked another bomber. I was in gun position two and barely saw him in time, so I simply held down the trigger and strafed as far left as I could as it zoomed past. I think I must have hit the pilot, as it subsequently went down and crashed in the ocean, but it wasn’t smoking. I also didn’t see any structural damage, so my guess is a lucky shot killed the pilot.

I know individuals can be hit, because my nose gunner was killed by a Spit on a front end pass, but the rest of the crew were fine. I didn't get a report or anything, the num pad 8 key simply switched to the top gunner and the 5 key became the belly gunner. The 2 key no longer changed to any gunner position, so I assumed the nose gunner was dead.

Yes I have...watching it barrel roll to earth was quite satisfying.

I'm surprised it even runs on a laptop! All I could suggest, is you change the key assingments. I personally see quite a few "superfluous" key assignments, so I'd go with changing some of those to enable the change of gunner position....which is a must to get a good feel of a bombiing raid in a German campaign

I must say, that strategic part of the game is weaker then Talonsoft's BoB, but with combination of simulation it is really great and I enjoy this game !!!
