Hi Orange,

I purchased the game but haven't played it yet because I have other games to play.

I saw a YouTube vid and it looked awesome. It was a little like CM but that's all.

So. How is this game system compared to Combat Mission?
I always thought the infantry action was the weak spot of the CM series.
Does this handle it better?
I haven't played all that much CM (Just the AK demo) so my comparison might be a little thin.
PCK starts with giving orders at the platoon level. The order of the platoon is one of about 6-7 general tactical order types (German get one extra type.) So this is a top down command system. You must think in terms 'How am I going to use this platoon?' CM seems to be bottom up. There you give an order to each tank or squad each turn. Thus its seem like you are thinking 'How can I use this tank and still not be penalized from the command rules?'

While orders are given or changed each turn in both games, the turns of PCK are longer (80 seconds as opposed to 60 seconds in CM) but there is a mid turn opportunity to modify the orders. Thus you have to think ahead a bit more in PCK.

Hi folks,

I encourage you to head down to the Panzer Command: Kharkov forum below, where there's a lot more info and discussion going on. Also, check out the older Panzer Command: Winterstorm demo. While Kharkov is a lot better than Winterstorm in many ways (a fairly comprehensive list of improvements is posted in the Kharkov forum), it will still give you a basic idea of how things work.

Regards,

- Erik

There's only one quick teaser so far, check the Kharkov game page or the announcement on the front page. But stay tuned, more videos are coming.

This is the 11th isn't that close enough to the middle of the month to RELEASE THIS GAME PLZ? ;) Lol listen to me I've been here what? goin on 5 years and nary a game has impressed me enough to even care when it was released. lol I guess it's been so long since I bought a new release a little frivolous spending now ain't gonna hurt my pocket book none. ;) I've saved so much money over these past years on not buying games upon release and just waiting for bargain bin prices that I could be considered a rich gamer. lol Actually Erik should just give me a copy for promoting it so. ;)

Ravinhood,

I have made at least two changes / additions to the RBG/RCG based on your feedback / wish list.

Only a few more days now ...
Dude, everytime you post, I'm ready to smack a bug on my monitor. Can I send the bill to you when I break it?

Excellent, that feature is working as intended then ... [:D]

When you signed up to the forum, did you read the forum rules / disclaimers?

Surprisingly in the fine print, it is clearly stated that Matrix will foot the bill for any monitor repair claims arising from the personal abuse of your equipment, if such abuse occurred whilst either A. Using a matrix product or B. Reading their forums.

So you have that going for you, which is nice.
