[REL] Remove sounds

Post by EagleMountainDK »

The aim of this MOD is to remove or change some of the sounds from Kharkov for the better [;)]

It includes the following:
  • No mouse over sound
  • No Distant German sounds
  • No Distant Russian sounds

The MOD is JSGME ready and gives you the option of use any of the above MOD's.

Download here:
I have pulled the plug of this MOD since it still cause trouble with the MMhoversound!

I have added two files for removing the Distant German/Russian chatter. See first post.

Next up (tomorrow) will be a more subtle click sound, I think the one right now is way to loud.

Thanx Stridor, Iøm pretty sure that setting the length to 0 of the distantorders was the reason for ctds.

I will make this up again, by writing a MOD guide for the wonderfull tool JGSME and present the three files from Strider in this "format", making it VERY easy to activated and deactivate a MOD.

Thanks, Cougar, that would be great. Feel free to start a new thread on that and I'll FAQ it.

Sounds great Erik. I have a guide written for rFactor and will update it and make it specific for Kharkov.

I use JSGME for JTCS and am very happy with it. I thought about using it for PCK but AIUI it will not handle games with sub folders. If you discover a way to make it work with PCK I will be a happy camper.

Hmm, it should work with subfolders ... for instance, if you wanted to have a mod that replaces an XML in the templates folder of Karkov ...

The JSGE folder (in Panzer Command Karkov folder) would be MODS/SAMPLEXML/DATA/TEMPLATE/sample.xml

The zip would only have DATA/TEMPLATE/sample.xml and the user could be instructed to unzip to the main Panzer Command Karkov folder.

Any help?

Nope [&:]

Best I can figure, you would need to install JSGME in each subfolder you want to mod. Then run the shortcut within that folder. AIUI JSGME is designed to work with games that have all the bits in the main folder.

The MOD is now fully JSGME compliant and uses the files by Stridor. The first post has been updated and the MOD is fully tested.
