HSG The First of Many

Post by Mad Russian »

Here is the second scenario I made using the PCK system. The first is waiting on a model of the Puma and then I'll post it as well.

This is a scenario that shows the meeting of two armored forces very early on in the war. They may not be what you expect to find.

This is a conversion of one of my favorite ASL scenarios.

This fight can be short and nasty.

As always all comments welcome.

Good Hunting.

MR:
Since I like early year's battles so much, I jumped on this one.
At Normal level, I won a Legendary for the German side.  This played out according to the description in that I lost a single tank.

I see the BA 10s are taking hits to the "tracks".  Yes, I'm patched.

The next time I crank up PCK, I'll try this from the Russian side.  I have a feeling I can win as the Russian! ;-)

Yes, it's been my experience that a scenario only plays well one way. Whether that's in Head 2 Head, German vs AI or Soviet vs AI mode. But only occasionally in two of those modes and only in the rarest of occasions in all three modes. I'm putting these out with recommendations for game play but of course my own game play is so low at the moment I'm not up the same level as most of you guys.

I spend too much time in the editor and doing research to play as much as I should.....I'm working on that but it's still slow.

The Soviets, as usual, are the more challenging of the two sides to play. But, as you say, they can also win the game.

Good Hunting.

I think one of the unique things about PCK is that it is much easier to make a two-way scenario than with any other game I have ever played.

In this case, my Russians, while losing 5 BTs, scraped out a fairly easy Decisive win.

I found playing from the Russian side more difficult (5 losses compared to 1 loss) because of the green units.

So in my book, this would rank in there as a battle with value from either side.  This was an entertaining battle with unusual OOBs.   ;-)

This is an interesting map that looks and works much better in a battle than it does in the map.bmp view.

I haven't played it enough to know if thats true yet or not. I would tend to think that it won't play well in either mode instead of playing well in both.

Of course tonight my monitor died so I'll have to see about getting another one in the morning.

As I get to be a better player my scenarios should get better. BUT I will start playtesting them from only one side.

Good Hunting.

MR,

Another excellent highly entertaining battle. Quick and bloody just as you promised! I suffered a Marginal Loss, playing the Germans on normal. This is another keeper that I look forward to playing again.

Many thanks for your efforts.
