Font issue

Post by ph4n »

Hi,

I'm having a font related problem - either I don't see any names and available/total command points on the leader icons at all (primarily on the mouse-over "quick info box" on the bottom of the screen), or they are way too big and misplaced (on the left click "action box" top-screen) - not really a pattern to the misplacing, and some even appear partially UNDER the actual icons! Also, the boxes that should show the leader ratings (shift-L option) are all empty (both instances). Any idea what the problem is?

In the "dta/art/fonts" folder:
- Font1-20.tga
- Font1.tga
- Font1b.tga
- Font1w.tga
- Font2.tga
- Font2b.tga
- Font2w.tga
- Font3.tga
- Font04-12.tga
- Font04-14.tga
regards,
fredrik

I think this is one for 2by3, I'm sure they'll check into it as soon as they're up (US Pacific time zone).

In the meantime, posting a DxDiag might be helpful just so we can check your video driver.

Yes, please do post a dxdiag report for us so we can see your system info and video card info. Is this problem happening all the time when in the game, or does it start out ok and then become bad at some point? Information about when it starts would be appreciated.

oops, sorry, disappeared into the game... :)

Well, everything works fine now - the problem only exists on my macbook pro with a Win XP virtual machine in VMware Fusion (which uses a generic graphics driver) - using Windows through Boot Camp works just dandy, and on my stationary PC at home everything runs smooth as silk too.

I can still upload a dxdiag for the VMware drivers if you are interested - let me know if so.

Wow, this game is excellent. Thanks!

Nope not needed. VMware is just not that good with DirectX as is Parallels, I never got anything that needs DirectX support working in a satisfying way through VMware. VMware has its merits, but if you want to game through a virtual machine Parallels is way better.

Actually, neither VMWare nor Parallels support DirectX 9 yet, they're both on DirectX 8 last time I checked so neither meets the requirements for WBTS.

Well, it is not "official" DirectX 9 support with Parallels 3 (yet), but many DirectX 9 based game I have here run under Parallels 3, so does GGWBTS.

Just my luck - I was really looking for Parallels, but they only had VMware at the store... Now I know I should have waited. [:(]
