The last time a World Series game was played in Brooklyn was Oct 6, 1941. That seems to be a lifetime ago, as the world has much changed in the last six years. Few of the 1941 team remain here, but co-team captain Pee Wee Reese is one of them. Our other clubhouse leader is Ted Williams, who is very familiar with our opponents.

The 1947 series starts on Friday Oct 3, at Ebbets Field, against those very same Yankees who beat us in five games back in '41.
