How's the update coming?

Post by 76mm »

I've been gone for a couple months and wanted to see if there is any news on the update that will allow larger maps, destructible buildings, etc.? Also, at some point you'd asked about what people thought about module-type expansions--ever reach a conclusion on going down that path?

thanks.

Hi 76mm,

Another update is in the works, but we never planned to add larger maps and destructible buildings as part of an update as these each represent a _lot_ of effort. We are planning on those for the next release. We are also planning on a "micro-expansion" but plans are still being discussed right now so I can't be more specific than that.

Regards,

Erik:

Thanks for the quick response; by "update" I meant another module or release, rather than a patch, sorry if that wasn't clear.

Any chance of this next release being released this year?

The micro-expansion? Yes, I'm hoping so, but it's still too early to set a definite timeline.

will the micro-expansion have the larger maps, map editor, and destructible buildings, or will that be in a different, bigger, release? Sorry if I'm being a bit dense, but am eagerly awaiting these features...

Not sure yet, but it's likely that some or all of those will be in the next big release rather than the micro-expansion.
