All These Beautiful Parks in Today's Game

Post by KG Erwin »

This is why I decided to play in the modern era. I just marvel at the architectual excellence of these new parks. The combination of retro ambience and modern sensibilities is a great mix. It culminates with the crown jewel -- PNC Park in Pittsburgh. Best of the old, best of the new.

KG,

I hate to play the role of 'pessimist' (an unhealthy position when you're a Marlins fan) but did you not already try the more modern era and realize you didn't feel the same connection? I certainly don't mean to distract you or convince you otherwise- I'm just wondering what changed.

What's changed is simply this -- I want to study the modern game a bit closer. I had success in the "Golden Age", so I wannna try it with today's game. Besides, I don't want my buddies to only associate me with a bygone nostalgic era.

Of course, as a Pirates fan, I couldn't resist the challenge of trying to do better than the poor management they've had in the last 8-10 years. The Dave Littlefield era was a complete failure, and this is my chance to see if I can build a respectable team.

That being said, I'm also biding my time until Shaun's new game appears. At that point, I will don my Brooklyn uniform and jump into the way-back machine.
