Artillery question?

Post by Kung Karl »

How come certan units canot fire on the first turn? THey have their attack bullets little watered out so to speak. When cirkeling through artillery units ist is fair amount that can't fire on the soviet units even though the soviets are within range? How come? I hop you understand what I mean.

I cycled through all the German artilllery and they can all fire.

If you feel any one unit cannot fire perhaps you can tell us which hex it starts the game on.

You are probably looking at a situation where a spotable unentrenched Soviet unit is stacked with a larger unspotable entrenched Soviet unit.

In WhatsNew.pdf
Changes to Indirect Fire attacksIn order to prevent possible game exploits, we have made some changes to how Indirect Fire attacks are resolved. When a hex is attacked with Indirect Fire, all units in the hex, not just those which are currently visible, will be eligible as targets for Indirect Fire and losses will be allocated as described in Section 27.2 of the manual. This change will prevent people from manipulating unit visibility to alter targets in the hex. To illustrate this, the dice shown for Indirect Fire attacks and by the Indirect Fire Advisor will be colored orange rather than yellow when the results of an attack will be taken by a unit that is not currently visible, or is only showing its nationality symbol. The one exception to this rule is that an artillery unit which has been exposed for Counter-battery Fire will always be a valid target for Indirect Fire.
