Humble wish list...

Post by spellir74 »

Not in any particular priority order:
--------------------------------

Elevations for map, toggle.

mine-coins toggled on /off

2X2 maps (ie 4x bigger); or bigger. Battalion command.

Rush fatigue. Not measured in micro managable way though.

WP (way points)

Goal flags on top down map only. Hidden goal option in scenario editor for scenario makers; ie even on top down Map, flag won't be seen. (This is needed to make AI behave like scenario builders might want sometimes.) Or toggle-able goal flags.

Medals awarded more accurately. (Once I had a lone MG and one squad of regulars hold off an entire attack, from a building and barn against over 15 passing squads, after his 2 MG partners and the three trucks and a half trak were destroyed (by ATG ambush at start). He never routed. He survived just barely. He didn't get a medal (other than wnd bdg)! Meanwhile other troops who did little received awards.)

========
Dead vehicles should be like PC:OWS.
From the manual:
"[it is neat to observe the playback action from a unit.]"
Not with improperly knocked out units it's not.

--------
When targeting from inside a vehicle, one will be booted out of that unit if one mistakenly clicks on already dead target. This makes targeting (from inside vehicle POV) tedious to say the least. Was not like this in OWS. Needs fix. In other words targeting should be like OWS.

Enemy POV option like in PC:OWS (ie observing from inside enemy vehicle position). Is there some reason why this was changed? If so that might change my opinion there.

---------
How to 'minimize' entire game window in game (and/or get to notepad in game) (ex: ctrl+Ent?)?

Someday, entire through-playback after the entire game; like video of entire battle. Is that even possible? Certainly turn by turn AARs are generate-able.

---------
Toggle orders and intel in game (for people with fried short term memory).

=====
Thanks.
Images should be easier to load at Matrix.

I would like to add a WISH. DICE ROLL RESULTS and MODIFIERS. Many times in PC Winterstorm or Kharkov im guessing what happened because I don't have perfect information. For example, I know my to-hit number and if an AFV gets hit and explodes. I'm assuming that my round penetrated and
the roll was equal or greater than my D#.

I want extra layers of command, and I want someone in charge of the formation as a whole. I want a "Panzer Commander" for my company, battalion, regiment or whatever. Please put some limits on what he's capable of doing, orders-wise. In his immediate vicinity, he should be capable of micromanaging friendly unit activity. For friendlies that are a kilometer distant, he shouldn't be capable of doing much more than issuing a platoon order. Let his qualities as a commander actually improve over the course of a campaign. And continue to tweak the platoon orders and AI behavior of individual vehicles/squads/crews, as I believe that the unit-orders can be a central strength of the game (as the maps grow larger). When the maps get large enough, the CO may need a "Storch," rather than a command vehicle. [;)]
