Actually AT plays in windowed mode. You just dont see the window. You can minimize it in the right hand corner.

Anyway to play AT in a small window so that someone could google stuff at the same time as play AT?

In fact could be useful during AI turn or when the boss is nearby [;)]

I'd really like to see this option, too.

For me, it's not so much the boss thing, but more a matter of being able to see what's behind/beside the AT window as well as compressing the interface.

When I am in-game, it would be helpful to have another window up that I can place beside the AT window. For instance, the AT reference manual or a web page discussing AT. Also, I could easily play a game of AT with someone and chat with them at the same time, without constantly ALT-Tabbing or minimizing to get to my chat program.

I run my desktop at 1920x1200. This makes the left and right interface items really far apart in AT, so I find myself moving the mouse back and forth across the UI to click a lot. A windowed mode would bring those buttons closer together and allow me to keep my higher res desktop.

Now, obviously, I'm not privy to how the UI code is set up in AT, but from the outside it looks like you did a great job with scaling based on the desktop resolution. It sure would be nice to have it go the extra step of just being able to run the UI inside of a movable, scalable window. Although, I would also understand this to be a difficult feature to implement if the 0,0 coords are based on the upper-left of the desktop and not the window in which the app is running.

or maybe a refence page with a map or a OOB during a editor session...

Now I'm playing AT with Virtual PC, useful, but it costs more resources for the virtual ambient and less for the game itself.

If running other programs, like listening to music, I just hit the windows button to bring up the task bar at the bottom of the screen, which will show which other program is running.

AT on a 24" monitor does mean lots of mouse traveling. I gave up regular mice soon after getting my first computer due to wrist pain. You might want to try using a trackball. I like the Logitek TrackMan Wheel, which can be set at high pointer speed and high acceleration. I can get across the screen quickly and play for several hours, without any wrist fatigue.

Oh yeah, I have a Logitech TrackMan wheel. One of the best things I've recently bought for my PC. I work all day in front of a computer, so playing games at night was just too much for my wrist. The Trackball made all that go away. I even have one at work now.

You lose a little precision over a regular mouse (making any action-y games a little more work and FPS's nearly impossible). But, after some practice you can get around just as well.

I've come to grips with all the pointer traveling and clicking in AT and still enjoy it. Windowed mode would just be gravy.
