Changing Generals?

Post by fighter36 »

Hello,

A quick question. I just finished 1914 on my current campaign and continued onto 1915. I noticed however that a few of my generals names were changed, which I assume means they were replaced or killed. Most noticably was Hindenburg, who was leading my march through Belgium. He was replaced with another chap, who I am sure comes from a fine family but has yet to prove himself hehe.

Anyway just wondering if this was programmed into the game to simulate generals being called back from the front to perform differnt duties?

Thanks

Yes, the generals' names change each year based on who was now commanding what historically.

Very cool, maybe.  A needless source of confusion, certainly.

it worked well in my current game.

i had an Austrian general that for 5 months tried several times, but just could not take Belgrade. I transferred another general from the Russian front to the Balkens to help out as he had an extra activation point. With his help I took Belgrade. The next turn the first general was gone. It was kinda like he was removed from his command for his failure. Added some nice flavor to the game :)
