VERY minor, low priority change request - CPU management

WW2: Road to Victory is the first grand strategy release from IQ Software/Wastelands Interactive, which covers World War II in Europe and the Mediterranean. Hex-based and Turn-based, it allows you to choose any combination of Axis, Allied, Neutral, Major or Minor countries to play and gives you full control over production, diplomacy, land, air and naval strategy. Start your campaign in 1939, 1940 or 1941 and see if you can better the results of your historical counterparts. A series of historical events and choices add flavor and strategic options for great replayability.

VERY minor, low priority change request - CPU management

Post by gwgardner »

When minimized, the game continues to use CPU time. For instance, if I want to minimize and go do some work with other applications, the system drags. Just typing is glacially slow. It's necessary to actually close out the game altogether. Would be very convenient if in some future patch the game would go idle upon minimizing.

This is nothing compared to the need for AI improvements and some kind of air/naval interaction.

This thing is really irritating, but AFAIK it's dependable to the framework.
But (I don't know why as I'm not a coder) if you run the game in window this slow down doesn't occur.

First we are working over the land forces AI and AFAIK it is ready to be tested.

Dear Doomtrader,

I am playing this game a lot, and would love to test the new AI. Please let me know if you need a tester.
