Gary VS Red World Cup battle Round 1
Alternate History: The Germans learning from history had decided that the War with Russia would be prolonged and last a couple of years, thus prepared in advance for the Russian winter. Also the other German Generals had been able to convince Hitler that the Ukranian people would better serve the German interests if the Germans treated them well. Both of these decisions created enough goodwill and intiative for the Germans to take Moscow and Leningrad in the Fall of 1942. Russia surrender in November 1942. Forcing the Americans to enter the war early and deal with Russians as a Axis power similar to Vichy France.

history playes strange tricks
I had an alternative explanation to this engagement:
Soviet Union pre-emptively attacked Germany on June 1st, 1941. Thousands of bombers made their deadly runs onto German formations being assembled. German air force managed to destroy many of them but it was too late as their front line airfields were overrun by fast moving BTs and T-34s. Simulateneously massive paradrops along the rail roads leading from Germany to Eastern Europe and coordinated sabotage actions blocked German supply lines.
By summer 1943, the war was being fought in the heart of Europe. Convinced by Churchil that Communist aggression must be stopped after signing a haste cease fire with the Germans, Roosvelt orders American GIs to deploy in Europe.

Well I guess
I like Red alternate reality too. But my computer didn't. Red I got the "Saved game failed to load" Did you exit the game quickly after you exited the deploy screen? This is what makes this happen. Well it does not really matter. All you have to do is reload. Repurchase and redeploy. Sorry I know deployment takes forever.

No I am pretty sure that that does not
cause it to not save correctly. I have played a bunch of games with OOB warnings. The OOB warning comes from two players playing with different OOB's.
I am playing with version 7.1 with no OOB changes.

Well Bob the Ivans are out there.
We can't see them, but we hear them and UGH smell them. There is nothing worse than a stinky communist. Maybe we should replace our boys Bazookas with Water hoses. That way they could spray them down when they saw them.
Well Dick that might help in cleaning up the REDS for thier Mrs. but I am not sure how much it would help with the war effort.
You have got to be kidding Bob, just think of how much more accepting the world would be of communists if they just weren't so stinky.
Well that is all the time we have for today.

Our forward elements report seeing only enemy's recon units in the north with some armor in the south. In the back some scouts made smoke signals either overcoming their broken radios or creating diversion from their artillery smoke foot prints.
Also NKVD reports of a new weapon being used by US infantry, something called WAT-ER-HOSE. It is supposed to make us really wet and wanting to go home. What are they smoking? I guess waterhoses.

Welcome back to another episode of World Cup talk.
Bob whats going on down there.
Not much Dick, the US boys have trashed the sh*t out of a bunch of poor MC bikers. But besides that just a lot of menuvering. Seems boths sides are moving slow and taking their time.
Well Bob it seems our boys are not moving as slow as the commies they have taken all but one of the victory hexes in the middle of the map.
Yes Dick I did not notice that before but your are right. Did you see that group of Calvery up north. Maybe that is where the smell is comming from.
I am not sure Bob but that is all the time we have for today. Join us next time on World Cup talk when we talk about the difference between a Bazooka and Armor.

Hello and welcome to another episode of World Cup war talk.
I am your host Bob and with me here to day is Dick
Hello, today we want to talk about the merits of charging a T34 with a group or Rangers. Well Bob what do you think.
Well Dick I don't think that it is a good idea, unless of course that T34 is supressed. Lets go to the Video. Here we can see Team USA's rangers coming out of a wall of smoke and Oh BLAM get blasted by that T34.
Ouch that must have hurt, eh Bob. Well that is all the time we have for today. Join us next time when we go over the merits of sneaking.

So the northern village is protected by a few rangers and an AT gun. the southern vhexes are unontested right now as each side waits on the other to move. I never liked US artillery playing against it, they are way too quick to respond suppressing any advance. I had my artillery commander shot already for being late and bad aim so we'll see if the new one is better.

Here we are with anothe episode of World Cup war talk
I am your host Bob and with me is Dick. So Dick what has happened down there today.
Well Bob it seems that a T34 advanced without infantry support out of the smoke and into ATG fire. Advancing the armor unescorted by infantry seems foolish to me Bob, but what happend.
Well Dick that T34 almost was lite up like a christmas tree, but quickly retreated behind the smoke it appeared out of. So what do we have to look forward to.
I am not sure Bob both sides seem to be performing light probes and doing a lot of menuvers. While pounding the othe side with artillary.

yet another turn
couple of amercan recon units are not answering their radios now. I'm setting up my security perimeter before advancing any further to make sure I'm not outflanked.
Did I say I don't like their arty? Yes, I did.

Here we are with anothe episode of World Cup war talk
I am Bob your host and with me is Dick and what a exciting few minutes have we had hear Dick. Three T-34 destoyed, dead horses all over the place and the reserves located.
What a show indead for team USA Bob. They located the USSR's reserve and made there move in the North. Rangers and M8 Stagehounds moved in with a vengence. Three T34's explode, motor cycle wheels every where, and almost a platoon of dead calvery. I am not sure if team USSR will be able to recover from this one Bob. Then to add insult to injury team USA pounded the reserve with all of its available artillary. Ouch thats gota hurt. Well that is all the time we have for today join us next time when we discuss the merits of 2 companies of Rangers versus a Platoon of M4's.

darn
my reserve co. was suppressed by that darn arty and is stuck in the tracks. that one rogue squad just had to peek over the ridge. good job Gary. oh well.
the only other highlight of this engagement besides my reserve being discovered is M10 Wolverine killing M10 Wolverine. Friendly fire you ask, I don't think so.
