Question, No Nomad

Post by heenanc »

I've got the A6M3 deployed for defense how much better are they than the A6M2.

I've got 266 A6M2 in the pool at the moment if I was ready to defend should I use the A6M3 only? And use the A6M2 for reserve?

Plus I thought the areas borneo, Malaya, and china could at least produce there own stuff (supplies) for at least the first year but mine are running short, Burma mainly do you take supplies from Japan to reinforce these areas?

I believe the 3 series has a better maneuverability and higher ceiling to at least put adent in the bombers flying higher and higher. [:o] [X(]

I don't think A6M3 makes much difference over the M2 in most mods. Others may have different opinion. The range is alot less, so I wouldn't expend alot of resouces building up the M3. The M2 factories auto-upgrade to M3a in most versions, which is useful.

If you want an IJN air-superiority interceptor, the Jack is better anyway, though still a loser to Allied planes.

I'm not sure if it's only in the BigB mod I'm playing, but the A6M3a gets its range back, but by that time the Hellcats and all sorts of good allied stuff start showing up.  The A6M5 Zeke does better from what I've seen so far, but it still gets beat up and it's range is I think 5 or 6 hexes.

Cheers, I thought with the lowering of the range PointToPoint defence might be improved somewhat.

What about the second question?

Is Burma self sufficent in your game? What about Malaya? I'm having trouble even though there not much action there. Don't think i've got one base with 20'000 supplies in Malaya, Burma or Thailand. Doesn't seem right. It not critical though saying that!!

That is a good question. I think it is theoretically self-sufficient; there are alot of resources in Malaya and Siam, not to mention factories in Singapore and Bangkok. Should be plenty.

The problem is that the AI moves supplies OUT of Rangoon pretty consistently when I have played. I have even picked up supplies and moved them by ship, and they just move somewhere else. They seem to pool in Bangkok, but others have more experience. I have never had a unit or base starve in Burma though.
