Deleting a supply point

Post by Prince of Eckmühl »

Is it possible to delete a supply point from a scenario?

If so, the process for doing so has eluded me.

Neither the backspace nor delete keys work on the buggers. [:)]

Selecting the SEP icon, should change its colour to a yellow background. Then hit the delete key and it should be removed. It certainly works on the SM here. Please try again and make sure the SEP is highlighted before hitting the delete key. Let me know how you get on.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for responding.

No dice, on that yellow highlight/delete function.

I can't delete the yellow SEP icons with the DELETE or BACKSPACE key.

I suspected that maybe the scenario that I was working with was corrupted, so I tried a different one.

Still, no joy.

Very odd indeed.

I take it you can add one OK?

Yes, I can add one, and I can work around it. I don't want you to get tied up with something like this. If it's not related to something that I mishandled in creating the scenarios, it can be addressed later.

An update on this, to clarify and document my inability to delete SEP icons once they're placed on a map...

I opened some stock scenarios in the CotA (S)cenario (M)aker software, and found that I couldn't delete them after I had clicked on them and turned them yellow.

In contrast, I can highlight an AP location of any type, hit DELETE, and it disappears after a moment or so.

And yet it doesn't happen here...mmm...OK I'll look into this once I get BFTB out. Can you please send me a scenario file where this occurs. Send to support[at]panthergames[dot]com.

TT3823 - SM - COTA - SEP - Can't Delete - Check out POE's scenario file.
After BFTB released.

I have had similar problems deleting SEP's, they are stubborn buggers but eventually I'm able to delete them. Keep dragging them here and there across the screen and hitting delete. Same in BFTB.

That's actually kinda where this saga began. I wanted to move an existing SEP from one map edge to another. However, it wouldn't display in the new, "correct" location when I opened the scenario in-game. It was as if I was failing to SAVE the file after I had relocated the SEP in SM.

Eventually I got frustrated, and moved it back to its original location. From there, I figured that I would simply delete the SEP, and create a new one at the location where I actually wanted it. That didn't exactly work out either. I think I've confused my scenario pretty severely.

@Dave: I'll send you a copy of the scenario file, AFTER you guys publish BftB! [;)]

OK, I have never seen that before.
