changing league details

Isn't there a patch I can download to let me go back in and change the roster size, dh rule and the closer usage in my league? Or is there some other way to do it... otherwise how is it possible to have anything close to historically accurate?

There is a utility called PS_CONFIG that I think will be able to do some of what you want. It is available at Crash Davis' web site. I don't have that url right now but you could look him up in the user list here.
