Firstly, whats with the dumb turn limit in the Barbarossa campaign?
Complete in 7 turns or get tossed out of the campaign?? WTF?

I've played 3 times on officer and narrowly missed out everytime.
I don't want to have to play the opening round of a campaign "just right" over and over just to progress.

Also you only get a 50 resources a turn, and the lowliest unit (inf div) costs 200 resources, so if I dont
reinforce my entire army at all, it will be the 5th turn before I can buy anything. And by then I only have 2 turns left or get thrown out again.

A spellcheck of the manual and unit descriptions would have helped also. Especially when Georgy Zhukov
is spelt "Khukov" in several places.

Also a tutorial is meant to help you with the game, and show you how to play.... not just dump you in the game without assistance. Yes I have read the manual and the help section in the headquarters menu.

And the game crashes on time, every time clicking on the artillery description in the tutorial.... thought I would have a look at the units while I was doing the tutorial and bang! C++ runtime error. I'm glad it does not in the other scenarios however.

This is actually a very easy scenario, I'm assuming you may be doing something wrong if you're having such trouble with it. Which of the three objectives are you finding to be the hardest to take?

Since you haven't completed the first scenario, you would not be aware yet that you get a resource bonus at the end of each battle based on how quickly you completed it and an overall scenario bonus as well. This gives you the points necessary to upgrade/improve/recruit your forces at the start of the next battle. Also, all losses are replenished for free at the end of each battle.
A spellcheck of the manual and unit descriptions would have helped also. Especially when Georgy Zhukov is spelt "Khukov" in several places.

We'll certainly do another pass on those before the first update. Typos are annoying, I agree.

I thought the tutorial did a pretty good job of giving some easy challenges and instructions for the player. What would you have liked to see instead?

This does seem to be a repeatable crash we missed, which will be fixed ASAP, but it is definitely confined to the tutorial as far as I can tell.

Ok you are right, turns out it is easy, I just changed the way I was doing things... turns out I didn't send enough forces early enough to take the city north of the bridge, and ran out of turns. I was expecting a counterattack from the KV2 (tough) unit on the east bridge and the anti tank gun but the AI didn't do anything. Now I have learned the AI isn't very aggressive, so have changed my strategy accordingly. Starting out new with the game 7 turns does not seem very long and you really have to get a move on. I was being overly cautious it seems.

Ah right good to know... wasn't in the manual that I could find so just assumed it was going to be like that through the campaign, although obviously with cities that had resource values later on.
We'll certainly do another pass on those before the first update. Typos are annoying, I agree.
Ok cool. Please understand I am not nitpicking here.. just pointing some out so they can be corrected. I put some in the other post about typos.
Also when in the menu can we have the mousewheel control the scroll button and not the zoom-in/out function on the background map?
I thought the tutorial did a pretty good job of giving some easy challenges and instructions for the player. What would you have liked to see instead?

Ok, perhaps something similar to Commander Europe at War? When you click on things popup tutorial messages appear explaining things. Like I would have liked to know (straight up in the tutorial) why the hex colour is darker 2 hexes away when selecting an infantry unit, what effect will the current weather have on attacking/moving, which city is the objective, what is the deploy area.. etc

It makes it easier to get "into" the game straight up.
This does seem to be a repeatable crash we missed, which will be fixed ASAP, but it is definitely confined to the tutorial as far as I can tell.

Ok no prob... it's just a CTD when in a tutorial does not give a good impression after firing a game up for the first time. [:)]

Thanks,

You still haven't quite learned the AI yet.  :P

There are two modes, one Aggressive, and one Defensive.  And just because one is aggressive does not mean it will do purely suicide attacks.
