yes the file looks the same. here's a pic hopefully:

I'm assuming that the witptracker.jar is in the folder c:\Gavan\MatrixGames ..., which seems like a strange place, cause the program unzips to witptracker folder ?

Is Java Installed ? click here

--Damian--

[edit:]Yep, Looks like Java is installed from the picture. Ok, looks like a Java pathing problem. Can you copy the savefile into that folder, make sure your witptracker.properties is correct (savefile name) then double click witptracker.jar ... hopefully we can see it load.

I just unzipped it somewhere I could find it & this file had matrix doc stuff in it. But the properties file has been changed to locate where the game is: D:\Matrix\Warin the Pacific.....

That seems to have done it. I haven't looked at everything yet, but the .db files appeared and the program loaded. Now is this a program that must run underneath while playing my WitPAE game, or can it get the info after I've saved and exited the game.
And if it is run after my game has been saved/exited what do I click on to open it...the .jar file?
Thanks for your help
cc
ps if it was a problem with Java finding it...should I move the tracker program somewhere else? or try reinstalling Java?

Well, we are not finished yet, the path problem still remains ... it is best to run from the *.bat file as it has our memory settings, and without those you will not be able to load the next turn (unless you are a 64bit user).

So we have some choices:-
1. we can set the windows system environment to locate java.
2. we can copy the java.exe from the install java dir to this directory.
3. we can move tracker to a location that works (probably c:\ or your desktop)
That seems to have done it. I haven't looked at everything yet, but the .db files appeared and the program loaded. Now is this a program that must run underneath while playing my WitPAE game, or can it get the info after I've saved and exited the game.
Anytime, it is a stand alone util, you don;t need AE open, it has its own DB ...
And if it is run after my game has been saved/exited what do I click on to open it...the .jar file?
Well, I want you to use the batch file... so see above.

Number 1. and 2. were beyond me so I tried suggestion number 3.
set up the tracker file in its own file on C:, ran the .bat file and it loaded up the .db files and the program, but the cmd line is still running in the dos window with a blinking cursor underneath?

Yep that is normal ... now you need to read about loading additional turns and seeing all that lovely data [;)]

Cheers, hope you enjoy it.

[edit] hope you put it in a folder in c: ... just for tidiness like c:\tracker

I noticed these 2 LCU formations not reading correctly.

7799 36th chinese division
7800 88th chinese division

Both only list and track engineers and support. Nothing else is listed on their TOE

Thanks for the report, looks like these Lcu's don't have a TOE assigned in the DB, so they should be picking up their local TOE iirc (and they look wrong too)... I guess Floyd will have to have another look & after testing it might be that the land team needs to have a look.

cpcunningham - the web site will be where I'll post tutorials as they become available, time permitting[8|]

You mean it won't be done today? [:(]

Get working. [:D][:)]

My back is only large enough for three whips (my wife's, my daughter's and my customer's). Maybe we can taunt you with screen shots of new features. [:'(]

Forget it wrong post.

Two problems.

1. When I import a new base region I get the following error.

2. LCU Production arrival locations aren't correct. For instance tracker tells me that US LCU reinforcements are arriving at Goa?

Image

Chris,
strange ? What scenario and which region file ? If this is one of the smaller scenario's then the base-regions we have created, with the help of Nomad, might not work ...

That info might help you. Scenario 1 and I tried both region files that came with Tracker which is why there are two error messages. If it helps this is my Tracker properties. I've also go it installed on my desktop with Vista and it does the same thing ans my Laptop with Windows 7.

To me it looks like you have a bad WitPAE install. I have checked and there is a base Ansi with ID 1535 in the scenario file. I know it is a pain, but I would try an uninstall of WitPAE and reinstall. I could just be some of the scenario files, and you could look at scenario 1 of your install and see if that base exists.

Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.

I have downloaded three times, reinstalling each download with exactly the same results. Not only that I've done it on two computers with different operating system. About the only thing that I can see might be causing the problem is the folder name I'm using for AE. Could it be something to do with it?

Missread your email, it was tracker I've download three times.

I'm unsure what you mean by this? It isn't one, it's all of the LCU reinforements list as arriving at the wrong place e.g. Goa, Allies, a blank, Kiungshan and more. I have no problems with a/c or ships, just LCU.

Yipes! It turns out that any device with an ID of 1300 or greater is discarded from the LCUs and TOEs. [X(]
The Chinese fighting units are all more than 1300, so that's why they never showed up.

I'll fix that one...

Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.

That answers why I couldn't find Torpedo Ordnance listed for any unit. I was trying to figure out what was wrong.

Edit: wow, didn't realize that Air HQ have them... but their device ID is 196, so my fix won't fix that.

Edit 2: after some investigation, these don't appear to be listed as an LCU "device", but must be in there somewhere else and somehow coded to show up or not for air HQ.

Floyd, if you got my email from last night you will realise that the torpedo ordinance comes from the location info (see end of function) not the device info ... actually, maybe I should double check that the device is there as well, but from what I can tell -- I'm right [;)]
