Generals and Stars

Post by konigsberger »

Hi!

My generals don't earn much fame, even if they command in battles. Then the number of their stars is the same, at the beginning and at the end of the game.
Why?
I should be FOREVER at war and send them always in battle?
Or they could earn more fame and then increase their fame and their stars if I send them in battle commanding alone, without the support of others generals? For instance Blucher commanding alone a corps in battle could get more fame than Blucher commanding the same corps with the cooperation of others "colleagues"?

Thanks

It does seem like the amount of fame gained per battle is remarkably low doesn't it?

I agree it should increase faster.

Perhaps Fame should increase *2 (*3?) faster until a country has "filled" its minimum in each grade.

IIRC you can promote people in FOF.

Just need more control added to promotions in COG instead of this random fame system.

It sure does not take long to lose fame-one battle seems to do it.
Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies.

Ok, ok.
I can see it isn't my fault! It's an overall problem, due to the game itself. It would be better if in the next patch the developers improve the mechanism of promotion of generals or they give the possibility to utilize experience points not only to improve troops, but to "promote" generals too increasing their "Stars" (according to me the best solution)!

Thanks all and bye

I initially had a problem with 'fame' and promotions. However, after fighting a series of major battles (3-4) (90k+ on each side), I have found fame and promotions to be much less of a problem. Indeed, one or two more major battles and I should have most of my promotions filled. (I'm playing France).

I wonder if most of the problems aren't appearing because (especially in PBEM) major battles are the exception not the rule.
