warplanner for wish list ?

Post by spidergod »

Hello

Been thinking that a war planner would be a cool thing to add?

somewhere you can fine tune an attack(s)

What do other folks think?

I have not started one yet, was on the brink of setting one off last night but then the game crashed :(

I expect they do get very chaotic though.

A way of setting up fleets to sync attacks on bases, so maybe the heavy hitter fleet goes in first and the 2nd (3rd,4th etc) smaller fleet comes in to mop up (not sure if this will/would be possible though)

Setting up target prioritys based on ship type and weapon type (plus stances).

A way of setting up a sneaky hit and run attack on weaker races (maybe it could be tied in with some intelligence missions)

The tactical planner on the ships/ship design is great, but maybe it could have a few extra options based on the above.

maybe I am thinking too much about how wargames work?

also thinking how about a morality system?

depending on your moral choices you could even have your own fleets turn on you and create a civil war?

The game needs a battle ledger like in EU3.You should have a way to know when and where ships are fighting on the fly.

I don't a morality system that declares an empire "good" or "evil".
I like the Distant Worlds version which is the reputation system,in addition to race statistics of passive(+-), aggressive(+-), Cautious(+-), Reckless(+-), Friendly(+-), Unfriendly(+-).
The reputation system is affected by, and affects, many elements.
Wish list:population centers beyond planetary(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Culture):Ships,Ring Orbitals,Sphere Orbitals,Ringworlds,Sphereworlds;ability to create & destroy planets,population centers,stars;AI competently using all advances & features.

The ability to command ships directly from the Ships screen, by right clicking on them and ordering would be cool. :)
