How do I get this game to work.

I have tried everything. Comes up with the system is not suitable to run MS DOS applications

Windows XP

That's odd--unlike Vista or Windows 7, Windows XP is capable of running DOS. Perhaps you don't have enough RAM installed in your machine to create DOS memory? (I've just come back from struggling with a Windows XP machine with only 256 MB of RAM. All sorts of problems.)
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?
