Fleet Numbering Issue

Post by Marcuso »

I'd like to mention one thing that I kind of have beef with that I never realized before.

When you create a new fleet and disband it, why can't the fleet number be reused? For instance, I had a "2nd Fleet" and then I disbanded it accidentally. When I re-created it, it became the "3rd Fleet," and so on. I cannot go back to the 2nd fleet; it is gone forever.

Can this be changed in the future? It's just annoying missing a fleet number. :-)

EDIT: Ignore. You can rename fleets. Sorry for the post. :-P

To rename a fleet, just go to the fleet menu, select it, and manually type in the name. I never realized I could do this.

You can rename a lot of things in this game. Is there a way to rename a system though? I can' stand having system AZ310 or something. Sure the planet I can rename, but not the system?

All the "nameless" systems are all apparently empty anyway, so you would never really see them, they are just wasted space on the map. Try renaming the star in the editor?

I renamed all my planets with my wife, kids, cats and dog names. It seems to make things easier. I sold my wife though ....................  [:-]
as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns; that is to say, there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns—there are things we do not know we don't know."

To rename a system, go into the editor and DOUBLE-CLICK on the star, rename it in the name box, then DOUBLE-CLICK on all planets and do the same. Copy and pasting helps expedite the work...

Now you get to conquer her :)
Also, don't let her find out you did that.
