RE: hammering the remains of some fleet

Post by RGIJN »

the strikes on the remaining allied fleet elements keep on pounding hard. Even the commodious harbour of Brisbane turned from a save place to seek shelter into a death trap. Alot of enemy warships were sunk there today. However, one bomber managed to get thru our bold CAP and planted a bomb onto SHOKAKU´s flight deck. Damage is slight and the air operations of CarDiv 5 flagship are not hampered at all.

Other elements of the USN is approaching Rockhampton area, obviously looking for some kinda battle to knock out KB. Immediately we´ve drawn up an elaborate plan to deal with this issue.

RE: hammering the remains of some fleet

Post by RGIJN »

tough our fleet was ordered to sail out of the harbour to catch the enemy at Sea, they were sluggish to weigh anchor. So some night battle occured, and even our carriers fell in with their 8" and 5" guns. Combined with the daylight airborne attacks we believe that most of the USN is in sinking condition now. Carriers of the KB and most of our battlewagons came out unscratched or with slight damage only, so we can proceed on the path of destruction...

slowly our troops are arriving at the outskirts of Brisbane, more than eager to attack tomorrow. An Australian attempt to chop some swaths thru our lines failed badly...

In the meantime the slaughter at sea continues.

This operation is finally reaching its zenith now. The emperor has sent a telegramme tonight, stating that he is going to arrive personally down in NipStria after the army secured Brisbane!

the struggle is a truly fierce one. The enemy even sent MSWs and lonely DDs into our direction. They fought valiantly against our Navy but were shot to pieces anyway.

Next turn should finally see our troops alltogether starting the assault on the City. They were a bit sluggish to take their positions in the hills around the beleaguered base...

as expected, the enemy puts up desperate resistance in their futile hope to defend & hold Brisbane. But our troops (120K!) have already reduced the fortification to level 6 (out of nine).

This city is about to fall very soon.

Live! from the Outback of Australia - An Allied News Broadcast of Propaganda

Post by a1981stingray »

It is clear blue sky and very warm here in the Outback of Australia. The wallabies and kangaroos woke us up this morning with their wild barks and calls as they invaded our campsite and made off with our food stocks.

Also early this morning one of our writers was bitten by a "two-step" Mamba. He quickly went into a paralysis coma while he tried to take 2 steps slowly away from the venomous snake. He died a little while later, after we had our morning breakfast tea of course. Local tribes have offered to host a ceremonial funeral pyre in their camp.

Several weeks ago we were hastily evacuated from Rockhampton as a Japanese "Submarine" Invasion force landed late at night on our beach and overran the local garrison there. We were thankful to make it to Brisbane where we setup a new 100 meter radio tower which to broadcast the news to all the south pacific radios tuned in.

All is going so very well for the Allies, that the SWPAC Commander ordered us to take a very long vacation and tour the local indigenous tribes and wildlife of the outback of Australia. In his own words, "Your Orders are to take your staff and your equipment on a trip into the outback, and from there broadcast the excitement of the safari for our troops coming back from the frontlines of the war looking for some Rest and Relaxation". So here were are on our 3rd week...

This afternoon we are eager to report that we are several days ride from Brisbane and as we look to the East for the early morning Rising Sun, we have seen many large plumes of black smoke rising from the area near Brisbane.... We have dispatched 2 reporters to investigate.... they have not returned....

LOOK OUT!!!!!!!!!! A Big Rhino just smashed into the side of our Range Rover and is circling around to thrash us again... It appears she is protecting her young or teaching them because it looks like they are all charging this way.... Driver! get us out of here now! step on it! Tune into 98.9 Hz tomorrow to hear if we have survived the outback of Australia.............

Brisbane has fallen...

Post by RGIJN »

The visit of the Emperor himself will take place very soon indeed. This is due to fact that our triumphant troops and men of the IJA & IJN gained control of the City of Brisbane today. This very day - the 13th Oct 1942 is forever carved into history.

Our special newspaper team flown in from Tokyo will tell the tale in some Illustrious pictures...

no comment needed.... (however, there are still signs from some civilian US people in the bush. Last night there were some campfires reported far away in the outback. We´ll investigate this soon...)

Final - Allied News Report

Post by a1981stingray »

an excerpt from the daily entries into the journals of the Chief Senior Editor of the Allied News Broadcast of Propaganda.

My remaining staff and I continue our trek back to civilization hopeful to reach Sydney alive and in one piece. The Japanese invasion of Brisbane may be over and they have probably taken everyone prisoner or killed them. I can only hope that a resistance group makes it tough for them to stay in power for very long.

Several weeks have passed since the Rhino destroyed our Range Rover... My staff and I barely escaped on foot and were able to climb a tree to keep from getting trampled underfoot from the Rhino herd. Unfortunately for Steve, he climbed out onto the wrong tree branch where a very large green tree snake was lurking. Steve was unable to free himself from the constrictor and was painfully squeezed to death. I can't shake this image from my mind. I can still hear his last gasp of breath.

A few days later, on a clear blue sky afternoon, I see a Japanese search plane fly over and I wave my white flag in hopes that they send help. Anything is better than the outback of Australia. The pilot and crew all wave back and the aircraft banks around and comes flying down, strafing me with guns blazing. I dive into a shallow and dusty ravine to keep from getting filled with hot lead. The plane disappears over the horizon. As I lift my aching body out of the gulch, I see and hear my co-workers crying and yelling curses at the search plane pilots... Amanda and Kathy are both lying on the ground dead... A very sad day and I regret taking orders from the Commander in Brisbane to go on a Safari and report the excitement for our returning troops... some R and R he said...

Our days are long, hot, and we are very thirsty... Dry parched tongues and throats don't allow much conversation among us. One afternoon, we stopped briefly to refill our canteens at a small river. But as Tracy waded into the water to cool off, our luck ran out, and a ferocious alligator attacked and dragged her under and into deepest part of the river. We stayed along the shoreline waiting for any signs that she may surface, but only to stay too long, as a hungry pride of lions appeared thru the tall grass on the other side... It was time to run.

Our nights are even worse since we are unable to sleep. We have been relentlessly, stalked, and pursued by hungry tigers. This keeps us moving ever closer to Sydney, but our luck continues to run out. Poor Frankie and Ronnie were so exhausted and dehydrated that they fell and were savagely ripped to shreds by powerful jaws and claws of the starving tiger pack.

This now only leaves me as the sole survivor. I think I am sick from dehydration and from drinking tainted river water with bacteria. I continue to talk to my co-workers and myself to stay awake and give myself hope that I may soon see the Sydney skyline and enter the outskirts. I try to keep a straight line as I walk in a southerly direction. I don't know if I am seeing or hearing things in my mind or if they really appear and talk to me but my co-workers are giving me encouragement that I may make it home.

I don't know what day it is... I can't remember yesterday, but I can remember how it all started. OH! OH!!! Wait!!! I have reached a hilltop. I can see for miles. I feel a huge darkness lifting from my heart. I strain my weary eyes to barely focus on the buildings in the distance. I estimate maybe 15 kilometers. I have finally reached the last leg of my journey. I finally feel relief and happy... I take a few steps down the hill only to trip up on some loose rocks and take a head-over-heels tumble down to the bottom.

I must have hit my head because I struggle to sit upright and I am dizzy and my eye sight is very blurry. I can feel tingly sensations all over my body as if my arms and legs are numb or like when your foot falls asleep when sitting cross-legged for too long. OUCH!!! what the ?!?!?! OUCH!!! DAMN!!! THAT HURTS!!! ?!?! Scorpions! Big Stingers full of venomous poisonous Scorpions!!! Stinging my back and all over me... I must have fallen into a pit of Scorpions! I only have a few more minutes to possibly record an entry into my journal... I want to thank everyone.........................

RE: Final - Allied News Report

Post by RGIJN »

Before committing to another war with it´s demand to publish the latest news from the frontline[;)], we´re going to conclude this report here...

Indeed, the Allied powers were brought to table and admitted complete defeat. After the fall of Brisbane along with the loss of the whole navy and major parts of the air assets any further resistance was deemed preposterous.

So The Emperor of Japan and the Australian goverment and delegates of the USA negotiated a peace that is meant enable all the people to live in freedom. No one will be forced into workcamps. Rather, we´ll send out search parties into the bush to look for all the refugees that fled the recent war actions. Its said to be a decent number of individuals that were seen hiding in the outback. They must be starving by now... Help is on the way!

Last but not least we thank everyone that took part in the glorious conquest of the Souther Areas - from the simple private to the upper echelons of Admirals and Generals they achieved the Greatest Victory ever for the Eternal Empire.

calm the Seas now are....
