RealPara

Post by CSO_Talorgan »

IIRC RealPara was mostly about data correction, and of course there'll be no need for that in LSA, will there?

:)

... but remember those Jeeps with the Vickers guns?

Are they in LSA?

Don't want to be a wiseacre, but did the Paras really have that many MGs on their Jeeps? The last two pics looks more like 'Commando Cars', used by Special Forces, while the Paras had a single Vickers K-gun, like the 'better-used' Jeep on top pic...

An interesting, but rather useless, fact: The guys from the Para recce used cookie-jars to store their ammunition, they were perfect for the round mags!

It's a unarmed car that is mostly open with an exposed fighting position. it's supposed to hit and run, using speed and surprise as it assets..against a prepared enemy well you know what happens.

7.92x56mm also is pretty much overkill on it.

I've seen a few pictures of these guys fighting, and every time they are outside their Jeeps, fighting as regular infantry. (But the Jeeps are cool, I use them as soon as I can!)

If I am taking a A/C out into combat, it's either a 234, M8 or Staghound

even then it's for infantry support and soft-targets. Not for engaging armour, even with something like the 251/22 or 234/4(both armed with 7.5cmL48 KwK)

Oddball just confirmed that the developers did tweak weapon and element protection values. And I think that most people in the MG42 thread would agree that this was a huge mistake. So to answer your question, yes, they'll be a need for data correction unless it's addressed in the upcoming patch.

IIRC, in real life the Jeep column, which had been flown in at enormous expense, made a dash for Arnhem Bridge shortly after landing ... and was shot to ribbons en-route. However, in CC II RealPara they made useful machine gun carriers, as long as you kept them back from the front line.
