Post by Andrew Loveridge »

Hello all,

We have a new update for Close Combat The Longest Day. It is available in the Members Club. You will need to register you game, if you have not already, and click on Registered Downloads.
Version 5.50.09b has a long list of changes, and we would like to make it official next week.
Please give it a try, and let us know if you have any issues.

Change History:
v5.50.09b – June 12, 2009
  • Code fixes
    • Attacker / Defender determination and display now correct.
    • Disbanded BGs will regain some cohesion and fatigue overnight before
      returning to play.
    • BG disbanded during a night turn will not come back until morning of the
      next day.
    • Fixed automatic post-battle disband when cohesion was very low.
    • Fixed excessive cohesion drop from losing quickly.
    • Fixed retreat on rout not working (for mods)
    • Fixed crash when airstrike bombs or rockets going off the bottom map
      edge.
    • Fixed potential memory corruption bug with mini-map painting out of
      bounds.
    • Fixed a memory corruption bug that could occur just post-battle.
    • Fixed spelling error in message about being unable to move due to
      strategic surprise.
    • Fixed data error with SdKfz 222 having the wrong 20mm cannon.
    • Fixed data error preventing SdKfz 222 turret from rotating.
    • Fixed crash when AI can not find a valid setup location for a team.
    • Fixed post-battle crash condition after flamethrower(s) were used.
    • Fixed a bug where the saved game file could become corrupted while
playing a campaign or operation when all battle groups on one side try to
enter / re-enter the map on the same day.
    • Fixed a bug where the saved game file could become corrupted when
removing a team on the Battle Group screen while another team in the
battle group was ‘disorganized’ and missing at least one soldier.
    • Enhanced grenade arming sound.
  • Maps
    • Setup zone now guaranteed to include the squares adjacent to a controlled
      Victory Location.
  • AI
    • Fixed a bug where the AI player could fail to move battle groups on the
strategic map when not in contact with the enemy.
    • The overall force strength ratio (ratio of the overall strength of AI player’s
side to the known or estimated strength of the player’s side) is now given
more weight in the AI player’s decision making when considering moves
      on the strategic map.
    • The AI player will favor more aggressive moves on the strategic map
when the AI player’s side has strategic surprise (i.e. when the player’s side
      can not move).
  • Graphics
    • Fixed graphical error on BGUNIT059_000.tga where the infantry unit
symbol was not visible during saving.
    • Enhanced gammon bomb graphic
    • Wreck graphics added for R35, S35 and B1
    • Updated a handful of team type icon graphic references in the data files.

Thanks again!

EDIT:

Just curious does the same apply to save games as does with the WAR beta?

That is always the case but it doesn't mean you can't try it out. Using old saved games on a new build will have the potential for creating errors as a result of discrepancies between data in the saved game and updates made to data files or EXE. Trying to use them won't hurt anything except possibly corrupt your saved game file. I guess it depends upon how badly you want to continue that saved game.

Attacker / Defender determination and display now correct.
- It is possible to explain more in detail that it means?

I believe sometimes before entering a battle the screen that announced who was attacking/defending was not always correct.

LSA is not beta anymore.  So when will all the other patches be finalized as official?

Can you be a little bit more clear please?
I tried

/"*"
"*"
and just * in the File name window but nothing happens for WAR.

Also is this going to be fixed?

Thanks

A basic microsoft/windows methodology, unless I'm mistaken, to see all files  *.*
