Play with no withdrawal?

In order to pull out experienced pilots from air units due withdrawal. You need click each rookies to unit until more than 1/3 its original size, then pull out 1/3 experienced, again add rookies, again pull out experienced, repeat several times to finish ONE air unit. If you don't do this but your oppenent do, maybe you will lose the air war. Do you find this add nothing depth to the game, simply tedious burden for both sides?

Now I wonder if playing with no withdrawal, how favourable is it to Allies? AFAIK there is a long withdrawal list of LCU, but they are mostly restricted unless you spend PPs to buy them out. Some British BBs. More air groups for Allies to train pilots. Is it break game balance too much?

I did a mistake and started scen 2 as Japan with NO withdrawals.
- There is a small list of air and land units that don't withdraw for Japan, but it's much longer for the Allies.

With NO withdrawals the British don't have to pay political points to prevent ship withdrawals either.
So it's a substantial Allied advantage I'd say!

No withdrawals can be used to strengthen the Allied AI in games against the allied AI, but would seriously unbalance the game if used for a PBEM.

You only have to worry about losing pilots for units that withdraw with the P after the date.  These are the ones that warn you that you will lose planes and pilots if you continue.  The other units are dissolved into the pool, so the planes and pilots are not lost.

Its favourable for the allies no question it does have some downsides

Several units that withdraw do so to add troops to the pools e.g. 70th Brit Div HQ and the NZ Armoured bde - in a no withdrawal game they cannot be disbanded which causes device shortages.

Even with that its still favourable for the allies no question

Would this also apply to the convoys?
