More Quick Combat Questions

Post by pjwheeling »

I have a few more questions regarding Quick Combat.

1) In the Appendix, under Odds/QC bonus, for Light Recoil it says 25% +1 Inf. What exactly does that mean?

2) In the Appendix, under Brigade Attributes, it says “QC” indicates the percentage bonus to inflicted damage (Att), percentage reduction to received damage (Def), and combat boost to Morale (Mor). Is this refering to Quick Combat?

3) The Manual indicates that the top three Generals in Quick Combat affect the results due to their tactics ratings. In what other ways do Generals affect the results in Quick Combat?

4) Is it a waste of a General's abilities if he is 4,5,6, etc...highest ranking General in the battle? If so, wouldn't he be better served in another force?

Thank you in advance for any help on these questions.[:)]

I cannot help but think that great results would have been obtained had my views been thought better of; yet I am much inclined to accept the present condition as for the best.

2) yup, QC = Qucik Combat

3) they might rally your troops

4) You will usually have so many generals around that you might as well have atleast one 2 star per division, one 3 star per corps etc anyway. Besides if you decide to split up your forces it makes sense to have more generals of a lower tier. (Like if you decide to send Jackson and his corps away from AonV).

Applies to infantry brigades for that side in QC, each of which has 25% chance of gaining an extra 1 in the combat die roll. Whether for salvo or counter-salvo fire is indicated in the appendix.

Ok. that makes sense. Are they accumulative? For instance, if you have Light Recoil (25% +1 Inf.) and Telescopic Sights (25% +1 Inf.) then there is a 50% of gaining +1 in the combat die roll? And if you have 4 such upgrades, does this mean you get an automatic +1 on the combat die roll?

No, its not accumulated - it remains 25% chance for each.

So then if I have four upgrades, there will be a 25% that I will receive that extra infantry for each of the four upgrades.
So I could end up with anywhere between 0 and 4 extra Combat points? Correct? Is this per turn?

It occurs each time the unit fires (either for salvo or counter-salvo as indicated).
