I miss the tooltips from Adv Tactics

The team behind the award-winning game Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive early days of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: The Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris is the first in an innovative series of operational World War II wargames that also include a strategic element. The Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris simulates Germany’s military successes in Poland and France in 1939 and 1940 (including also a hypothetical “Sea Lion” invasion of Great Britain).

I miss the tooltips from Adv Tactics

Post by LarryP »

First off Vic, I am thrilled you released this game today. It looks excellent. [&o] When I saw this was released by you, I had no hesitation about the quality. Advanced Tactics is one of my favorite games. [&o]

OK. Now for the other news... I miss the wonderful information from Advanced Tactics. I didn't have to right click and hold the mouse button to get information. Everything had information that showed in the left area. Items like entrenchment and supply had information that explained it more. Those kinds of items for the units had lots of help. I don't seem to be explaining myself very well, but maybe you get the idea? In other words, it just seems like the help concerning tooltips was more thorough and easier to get to in your last game.

Thanks again for an excellent game Vic! [;)]

I just came out of Advanced Tactics to verify what I wrote above. Everywhere (almost [;)]) that I put the cursor, there is an explanation in the horizontal bar. Tons of information. I do miss that ease of seeing the information without any clicking at all. It makes decision making a breeze. I'm in no way finding fault with the game, it's a great game, but I believe the tooltips more like Adv. Tactics would make it even greater.

I find it also quite odd that you have to right click and hold. Seems like a thing of the past when every game interface these days is based off of hover. It's not a game breaker but I agree it feels like a step back.
