CS Convertion to CVL BUGG

Post by RUDOLF »

Problem is, after 2 CS arrived in Tokyo the "Convert" buttom dissapered. It is visable at all locations untill arrival.

Tokyo did not "quallefie" for the Upgrade (Shiptard Répair Size is 49), but would have correct shipyard repair size within a few days.
Now had to go back 1 day in game to "prevent" that the CS's arrive in Tokyo prior to Repair Yard is correct size.

Lets hops it will work as intended when Shipyard Repair is correct size.

Yes, the Bugg Occours in Scenario1, IF you move the ship to Tokyo with "CVL=Yes) PRIOR to having Upgraded the Shipyard Repair in Tokyo.
You then Permanentlly lose the chanse to do the Upgrade.

To Prevent the Bugg, you Upgrader Shipyard Repair PRIOR to moving the "CVL to Yes) so keep CVL=NO untill Shipyard Repair is correct size. That is the way in Scenario1 to avoid the Bugg.
Now Verefied.

In my Scen 1 of Allied vs AI started under original release, I loaded up the game as head to head at one point to send to CS ships to convert to CVLs as I'd sunk most all the other CV/CVLs. The conversion happened fine for the AI in my game in Tokyo w/ one exception - it was available WAAAYYYYY too soon like days instead of months. The ships are both sitting in Tokyo fully repaired & ready but the AI doesn't seem to be using them. It was in Aug43 when I sent them to be converted though.

The issue is that, to convert the CS to CVL you need to a) be in tokyo and b) you need a minimal shipyard size of 50 (IIRC).

Since Tokyo starts out with a size 30 (again IIRC), you can't convert the CS to CVL there (or anywhere, because of a) )

Apparently Rudolf found a bug where by entering the CS's in Tokyo with the shipyard still <50 and ordering them to convert, removed the convert option itself altogether, instead of simply not converting.

This way you can't convert the ships later on, when the prereqs are met.
Hope this clears things up.

in scenario 2 you can convert CL Teryu and CL Tatsuta into CLAA class ships, which is very cool.

In one of my games it went ok, They've disbanded in Tokyo, and they were converted.

However in my other game I had the same thing happened, that is described in this thread: NO COVERSION BUTTON, not even a grayed out one.

Both games are scen 2, ships are in Tokyo, and shipyard size is the same. Only difference: successful conversion took place in march 42 and my other game (unsuccessful) is in jan 42.

Ideas?

Actually, it's same in scenario 1.
