Thanks very much, Justascratch. I think you did more than enough to introduce both veterans and novices to ROTS. As for the spoiler, I hate reading spoilers, but that one didn't bother me, it's only the very first encounter so lots to do after that.

Great job and enjoy the time with your family.

Thanks Justascratch for your hard work, definitely going to purchase the expansion.

I hope that when you said the back story is "deep", you mean deeper than the original story...which wasn't deep at all.

Justascratch, why don't you or someone authorized by Matrix or Codeforce put up a YouTube video of expansion gameplay.  A vlog AAR would be pretty cool....kinda like a mini movie.

I can see it now!

The opening scene comes up with a lone Carrier surrounded by Kaltor's......and just as all seems lost....a friendly fleet warps in launching hundreds...er...tens of fighters to eradicate the scum of the universe.....Meanwhile....on the other side of the galaxy the Shakturi return...... a vast numberless fleet pours into the Qualor sector destroying whole worlds....

As the galaxy reels from the return of the Shakturi a coalition of the reluctant pulls together in a desperate effort to stem the horde of malevolence that threatens us all......

How viable are fighters and carriers as a main force?

Similar to real life, Carriers are expensive to build (a lot of fighter bay component points) and
due to that, leaves little room for both offensive AND defensive weapons plus shielding. In
addition, they need to be escorted. I suggest at the least a couple of Cruisers and Destroyers.
But it also depends on the type of fleet one is composing (ie. invasion, assault, etc.)
Overall though, the fighters and bombers when in numbers are a real threat.
Shields are useless in "The Briar Patch"...
