Axis Airbases

Post by buchand »

Any advice on keeping an air presence in 41? I have been holding them back on the start line until supply and security is guaranteed but by Aug/Sept cannot supply, recon - nothing.
I saw a thread about placing empty airbases in 'forward' areas to stage from further back?

I must say that the depth of this game and the need to keep coming back to the forum for help could have been annoying but is actully one of the great things about it! Thansk to all the testers who spent hours learning the intracicies of the game so that dummies like me don't have to[:)]

I don't see any reason to hold airbases back. What security threat are you worried about? They should advance at the end of the supply tether (in supply) and about 5 hexes behind the front I think. The Sovs pose no threat to them that I can see - at least as Soviets I've never run over an Axis airbase in 1941.

There's indeed little reason to keep the air bases far to the rear. As long as you keep them some distance from the front, they'll be alright.

Thanks. I suppose it was moving foward as the Germans and constantly over-rumming sov airbases. Have tried it and it is working.
Now all I have to worry about is RSI [:D]
