Hi Igard,
Thanks for the offer, however I have also saved these as PNG's as well. The reason these are JPEG's was because I thought we could only post JPEG's on the forum?
Huh?

The only 2 ways are to zip them or upload to an image host. This is the easiest host I've found to use, no logins or anything, just upload and copy the link : - http://imageshack.us/

I hope you're going to do more of these, they look fantastic. I don't know when I'll get back to it, but  I might have a look at that above site Duael posted pretty soon. [:)]

Something strange here.

Installing this causes the game to crash very early in its load routine. Copying over them with the originals makes the game work. So some file in this makes the game go bananas (1.5.0.8).

Sorry, Bingeling. I don't know what to suggest, they're just png files, nothing more. They are much larger than the vanilla files, so unless you've got a good amount of RAM, I wouldn't recommend them.

I haven't had much motivation to do these recently, but I'll start working on a low res version as soon as I'm able.

No big issue really just thought I would mention it in case it is something changed in DW that makes it balk. I am surprised if it is a mem issue, as the crash is like a second into launch. Like it finds something strange that makes it drop dead.

Hm, I moved the originals and replaced, maybe there is a file missing or something.

Only idea I have is...

I changed the opening movies names so they wouldnt play...the game crashed

Maybe one of the name's of the pictures in the game's loading list is incorrect

It could be as simple as the replacements missing one file. I should backup by copy the originals, not by moving them. Tomorrow (or later) anyways, the gaming computer is shut down.

The bigger issue is getting a new game to stick. I am world champion at restarting.

Don't be so sure, I think there's some tough competition on this. I claim the "crown".

Ah, I think I see. This doesn't include replacements for every single planet texture, only about half of them.

So if you move the original files and place these ones, it will be missing half the files.

Instead, copy the originals and paste them somewhere as backup. Then overwrite the originals in the game directory.

Could that be what's causing this?

It may well be. I will have a look next time. If I can handle the break before launching [:D]

The instructions in the OP weren't very clear, so I've updated them.

Hope this solves it, let me know, Bing.

It seems it was indeed the problem. Missing graphics files is not something DW is happy about.

Has anyone noticed some of the planets dont show up easily on the system info panel?

Its the dark ones which are the problem.

Great mod though.

Yep, the volcanic planets are quite dark. But, I actually like it, so I ain't complaining.

Hi all. Just haven't really taken the time to work on this recently. It will get done sooner or later.

Cookie monster, is it just that the graphics are quite dark? I've never noticed anything wrong with them myself.

I took a picture of one culprit while I was playing. I've included the picture. There is also one of the volcanic planets which is really dark. In the main map area it is barely visible. I will take a screenshot when I next see it.

Edit: And that's with my monitors brightness turned up to 100%. DW is too dark otherwise.

It looks fine to me, CM. I can see it clearly enough. The marshy swamp was supposed to dark and forboding, sort of like Dagobah. Also note that cloud overlays don't appear in the system info panel.

Could this be a problem with your monitor? Does anyone else think this is too dark?
