Tenders and Resupply

Post by Mike Carroll »

I just want to make sure I understand how this works. On page 285 to 287 there is a table showing the REARM cost for each weapon. It cross indexes the port size with the required additional NAVAL Support necessary to rearm.

For example a 8in/55 Mk 9 has a rearm cost of 540. this means it can rearm in a size 6 or higher port without support.

In smaller ports it requires additional Naval Support. You can also use a Tender. In the instruction says the weapon REARM cost must be less than or equal to the cargo capacity of the tender.

1. If there is a tendor present does this cargo capacity count towards the required
naval support? Or does the presence of a tender with at least a cargo capacity of 540 or more eliminate the required naval support?

2. Can a tender rearm more than one ship at time?

1. You either rearm from the port or rearm at sea (from the tender). They don't combine.

2. Yes, within the restrictions of op points.

Thanks, does this meant he Tender must be carrying supply to rearm or does it draw supply from the base?

You can resupply while still loading from the port.

Sorry but one question leads to another. Does the tender need to be in a Task Force or can it be disbanded in the port? It just needs supply?

Can't it make use of AKEs?

Yes, you are quite correct in pointing that out.[;)] I was merely using the same terminology as the OP to avoid confusion in those situations, such as a DD rearming, where only a "real" tender is present.

Note that Tenders/AKE's use op points when rearming ships. If you've got a lot of ships that need rearming and want to do it in one turn from AKE's/Tenders- you need a lot of ammo ships.

Just needs supply. It can be disbanded in the port.
