Earning Extra Prestige Points

Just in case you didn't know, you can gain extra prestige from each scenario of a campaign if you don't take the final objective until the last turn to win a decisive victory. I didn't catch this the first scenario, but in the Norway scenario I gained an extra 40 prestige per turn by doing this. Not much, but it adds up over time. depending on how fast you normally claim decisive victories.

Now I don't know if this effects any other game results such as random unit rewards, but if it doesn't than snag yourself some extra Prestige Points.

Anyone else find ways to earn extra prestige from the game?

So the later you take the objectives the more prestige you gain? Did not know that. Does it only apply to the last city, or to all of them? If so it would make sense to leave a unit "guarding" enemy cities instead of capturing them.

Terje, as far as I understand it after messing around a bit with the scenario editor, it's not prestige you get for capturing the objective later.
Instead, each scenario has a "prestige per turn" value, i.e. no matter what, you get x prestige each turn.

There seems to be a certain amount of prestige added to your total each turn. I'm not sure if it the same amount for each scenario.

IIRC, in Panzer General you would gain extra prestige for each turn you held each objective. Maybe this is something similar?

Just ran a quick test, and it is indeed so that you gain some "free" prestige each turn. The ammount differs on the various scenarios. Good to know.

I remembered this trick from PG... it always seemed a but strange that you'd get more prestige by just sitting around waiting for the last decisive victory turn, but it seems Panzer Corps has kept this set-up. Personally, I'd prefer being rewarded for finishing earlier. It seems like it'd be an easy fix coding wise. You'd just have to write a code that gives you X amount of prestige for each turn you finish early where X is more than what you'd get for sitting around and waiting.
