Base interface screen question

Post by Dadekster »

Ok, so I am slowly grinding my way towards understanding the game and its mechanics...sloooowly. I have read the manual and check the boards frequently to glean info as part of this however I'm having problems figuring this one out as it seems to be something newer than the manual covers nor did I see it mentioned in the video tutorials.

So what exactly does the stockpiling button do and how is it any different than just letting supplies accumulate any other way? Does it prevent units from using any supply or fuel at the base or something? Thanks in advance.

Stockpiling was added in the beta patch, so you will find a small explanation among the hundreds of notes in the readme. Basically, it means that if you turn stockpiling on at a base, that material (supply, fuel, resources, or oil) will not be shipped away to other bases via your ground transportation network.

Ah, well that makes sense and thanks for the info. I have not played the main campaign yet doing only Coral Sea twice and I am now playing Guadalcanal but your answer prompts another. Is there a way to track how supplies move across the maps land surfaces or does everything end up in one or two major spots/ports anyways?

The game manual discusses how supply moves across the map but to track it I believe that you will need to use the WITPTracker utility mentioned in one of the sticky threads above. I don't use it, so I can't tell you more.
