Hi!
Now I have uploaded the playable map to my site www.mannaberg.se. Free to download.
Its the jan 7 -2012 version with the 63 Tga files.

To print it you need a high quality full map picture. Not a very compressed jpg one.
Use ex the free Irfanview program and put together (make panorama) the 63 files and you
get a tga file with 9218*7168 pixels. After that you can experiment with size and print it.
Goran

Thanks for the advice

I have created the big map from the 63 files, it is a jpeg as that's all Irfanview seemed to like, and will be sending it off for printing once I have confirmation that it is of an acceptable quality.

So, on the basis that these things are usually cheaper the more one orders, would anyone (in the UK) be interested in a hard copy of the map? I have resized it to make it fit onto a sheet of A0. I can accept payment via Paypal to cover the printing and any associated P & P. At present I have no idea of the cost but I would estimate £20 - £30 and more if you want it laminating.

PM me rather than add to this thread

Hi!
Irfanview can handle tga -files. Perhaps you must add that function.
Try to keep the picture us uncompressed as possible. Otherwise
at least the dates will be difficult to read. Check that.

Hi
The game map I think is done on a map with scale 1: 2 or 2,5 Milj. That is typical for
a military strategic overview map. An ex. is the German OKH map of the Siegfried planning see map 4.
The most typical German "situation map" "Lagekarte" " Operationskarte"is in scale 1: 1 Milj. see map 2.
They were produced once a day ( in some periods 2 times).
More detailed strategic maps ( also perhaps tactical) were the ones in scale 1:300 000.
They were put together to "Grossblatt-Karten" 2-4-6 together. see extract in map 3.
Finally my "Operationskarte". See map 1 with information more like in the typical German Operationskarte.
You can compare. I have choosen one of the most difficult areas to extend information in.
Thats because all relations must be kept between rails and rivers in order not to change game play.

Hi!
A more complete version of the Operationskarte 1941-45 " Planning map".
On a start map in about the scale of 1:2,5M I have transferred the naming, coastlines and rivers from
a typical German OKH map in scale 1:1M. A very few name changes have been done so most things are pure adding.
Sometimes naming is also done to minimize minor map distortions. They are very few.
The naming adds a feeling of the maps that were used as "situation maps" by the German OKH.
Game play is not at all altered. The added facts are " not ingame".
This means that its of no importance with which map you play with or against.
Occupation dates are from mostly official Soviet sources.
Exceptions are from detailed well-known German or Anglo-Saxian sources.
With the help of these dates you can at any time of the war or on any place on the map compare to history.
Its easy to see the bigger campaignes because of the colour scheme. Year and force.
Here is the preliminary version.

Hi!
On the modded map.
Any objection to this?
Its a patrol that reached the Astrachan-Baku railway 23 aug-42.
Went back next day.
I know its not the most put forward view.
( thats a patrol from Elista-Utta to Zeneli (Senseli?) 15 sept -42
Just to the north outside this map.

Hi Goran,

Do you still have a map without all the dates but with the new town names ? For my eyes it's a little bit to crowded with the additional dates on it...
And i forgot to make a backup....
Thanks in advance.

When I try to connect to the map page Ima getting the following

Hi!
Revised the map in the Caucasus and The Baltics. Further dates to be able to follow
the progress of the war easier. More reliable geographical end-positions for the Germans in the east
and the historical main passes (Rails already shown)in some heavy mountain and swamp areas.
Can be downloaded in TGA-version from my site www.mannaberg.se
Playable map version ( 63 TGA-files) on the same site.
Regards,
Goran
