Post by Princessjj1 »

Posting this here because the CaW forum seems to be deader than dead...was wondering if there's any news on when we'll be seeing this.

Thanks Mikkey...looks like I did miss the rest of the 2012 annoucement! MG needs to update their list. [:-] Piercing Fortress Europa looks interesting! Anyone have any clue about what will be added to the Matrixgames version of CCaW?

That's some kind of a joke. Those screenshots are from World In Flames.

What's weird is that one screenshot has the Adanac logo and the game title baked in, but the other screenshots have the Matrix logo. And if you search for the game the only reference you can find is that link above and one other post from the Adanac guy saying the title should be entering beta in 2011.

Back to the main topic, I'd be willing to invest in a new version of Complete CAW. I have an old version, and it has lots of extra scenarios to offer, plus a decent scenario editor and a great what-if database. This is what has kept me from buying the Matrix release of CAW, as I was waiting for the bells and whistles of Complete CAW. This is the only game I own in which I am willing to play as the Japanese, as I frankly think that the original First Air Fleet was one of the best carrier forces ever assembled (at least in 1941-early 1942). This is one of my gamer's idiosyncracies, as IF the Battle of Midway had turned out as it should, then my beloved USMC would never have had the chance to win their glorious victory at Gaudalcanal.

In any case, a Complete CAW would earn this gamer's money.

You can still buy it (the original) on that spammy looking website SSG US or whatever it is called. I emailed SSG a couple of years ago, and they told me that the website was actually a real website.

Still, a new Complete Carriers at war would be nice.

Has anyone emailed SSG and asked them about this?

Whenever info on this sees the light of day I hope some issues with the last release are addressed. Being able to control submarines, some kind of dynamic campaign , the scenario builder is from the stone age to name a few.

IMO this game has the potential to be so much more than the last release but it will need more than a coat of paint.
