Yeah, it's required for a reaper invasion. Ancient guardians will be better incorporated into the mod later on. As for the ship graveyards we will replace them with ships from Prothean Cycle mod. All in due time of course. Sadly there is no way to make a perfectly accurate Mass Effect mod on DW so we work with what we have :) I think it's pretty good anyway [:D]

Yeah, it's required for a reaper invasion. Ancient guardians will be better incorporated into the mod later on. As for the ship graveyards we will replace them with ships from Prothean Cycle mod. I see, well don't get me wrong! The mod is amazing so far I was able to play for a few hours Monday afternoon, graphics and effects are excellent leader pictures very well done I like the tech tree and the race attributes and the music! Just perfect! It really helps the immersion (also unused to play legions and loved that game too).

I was thinking to post some pictures and perhaps a lite aar. Unfortunately later in the day I found out that I have a major rootkit malware infestation. Now I probably will not be able to play for a few days while i try to fix it every day after work.

I hate life sometimes.

If I download the ME mod (but don't Sound and Graphics add-ons) will the ME mod still have all the music, graphics, etc when I play it?

You will have music and shipsets but you wont have effects and planet graphics. The weapon and other sounds will be unchanged too. No UI changes too.
I see, well don't get me wrong! Is there a way we can have two totally different versions of the game running? I tried copying the Distant Worlds folder to a secondary directory but it still runs with the presets (and as far as I could tell everything else) from the main installation directory (even though I launched the game from the new modded folder).

That is strange. It uses the same registry in the main machine but it should read the corresponding folder. I can start my Galactic War Mod Folder just fine without Vanilla. Try copying it again and do not use a launcher. Just start it directly through the main exe.

Oh that's my problem then :( I cannot run the game without the launcher, it always crashes for some reason if I use the DistantWorlds.exe

Nedrear - thank you!!! I got it to work! Tried a bunch of stuff with the exe and surprisingly all I needed was to run as admin for all modes and now I can do it. Yea!!!!!

hich of the expansions does this require?

U must have DW:Legends. I don't think that the exact game version could be a problem but it's always best to have the latest patch too. If u don't have legends you could use the ships from the mod but nothing more would be convertible.

It can cause issues. My resource mod needed to be updated to .0.16 too. Sometimes things like Game Text files change. But these problems are only part of Mainfolder Conversions, not Customization Themes since these parts were not changed since Shakturi. Still there might be a change with a new expansion.

Thank you. I do agree that me and Quadro did a good job so far. Don't worry about Shepard and other iconic characters - we'll add them soon enough. We just want to make sure they are perfectly balanced and not overpowered :)

Yes Kalthaniell, there is one in the works and Elliot is in creation/development of it as we speak.
I would expect that, knowing Elliot, a lot of the best ideas along his way of desire for the game will
come from the Master and Modder's Wishlists. {He REALLY DOES review them)

As to the ETA, I wildly guess that similar to last year, an announcement will come soon and the
initial preview will be before the Thanksgiving holiday season begins. That's usually when we beta
team members get our first developmental notes and testing assignments from Erik & Elliot.

But don't fire a Shaktur Firestorm at me if I'm a bit off either way timing wise on this! [:-]

Thx for the info Ehsumrell. I must say I can't stop being positively surprised by the fact that creators of DW are really treating fan made suggestions seriously. It's way too rare and most developers just cound't be bothered... :/

Either way I can't wait to see what will come next :) I am so satisfied with what Legends upgraded and added. Also, I often wonder about how DW 2 would look like ^^ I kinda imagine it having all features of DW but with graphics of Gratuitous Space Battles or a similar game (3D graphics would spoil everything imao) and with planet invasion interfaces similar to those from Master of Orion III ^^

You're welcome Kalthaniell. I've been with DW from the start and have been honored to be a working
part of the game since the Return of the Shakturi expansion. Elliot does take tremendous pride in
his work and he also greatly values all of our input. I ESPECIALLY enjoyed watching Legends progress
into what it did for the game. In addition, the Creature contest was fantastic as well. I'm
still holding a 'secret' grudge against WIZZ (Damned Silvermist...I've lost SO many good colonies
on Continental planets that HAD good quality because I couldn't get a fleet there in time.) [:@]
I've also been honored to assist the likes of Igard and Haree78 in their mod productions that fully
enhance the game even further. I've also kept a close eye on your great work as well. I definitely must
also mention a shout-out to WOODMAN. WOW....what a fantastic shipyard he has.

In closing, I also want to shout-out that DW has an overall FANtastic community here, young AND old,
rookie AND veterans of the genre. I'm ESPECIALLY looking forward to this EVA LILITH....WHEW! EVE Mod!
[&o] I think it's going to be the sh@#...oops, you know what I mean!

Now if we can only keep DATA out of our damn Cargo Bays!!!!! [:-]
