august 42?

The development team behind the award-winning games Decisive Campaigns: From Warsaw To Paris and Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive year and theater of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue simulates the German drive to Stalingrad and into the Caucasus of the summer of 1942, as well as its May preludes (2nd Kharkov offensive, Operation Trappenjagd) and also the Soviet winter counter-offensive (Operation Uranus) that ended with the encirclement of 6th Army in Stalingrad and the destruction of the axis minor armies. With many improvements including the PBEM++ system, this is a release to watch for wargamers!

Playing a learning game on easy where I reload and reload and try to figure out what works.. its now the end of July and there is no Red army, nearly 1 million casualties and I was wondering if it gets help or if the game is effectively over as the HUGE losses.. I am playing axis in this one.. do the reds come back or is it over with the loss of most of the army?

Nope, that is game over. Difficult to give exact figures as every game is different, but against a human opponent you'd expect to see casualties anywhere in the region of 300-500,000 by that time frame. A million casualties by the end of July means there is nothing left and you can stomp all over the map at will with your German forces.

it is amazing how easy it is to lose on hard or normal in Trap.. especially learning...
steep learning curve!
Thanks for the quick reply

my "winner" was the result of 6 or seven failures and restarts to the beginning, hundreds of tuns...
Nice game.. Ill try on normal and without the reds having to c and c rules...

One note I hade lots of oil, when does oil, with the varient to track oil, become an issue?

At the moment it's not really an issue for the Germans.

Nope. variants can be enabled or disabled in the scenario setup screen when you start a new game.

I meant that i I upgrade to the new system.. will I be able to keep my old games.. I think you are answering that if I USE a new variant, which of course is only available at start up. Perhaps this is only the addition of these variants? thanks again for supporting this!
